How long to add on points at sold out resort?

senecabeach, given that you were on the waitlist for such a long time, was there a price increase for points during your wait period and if so, did you have to pay the new, higher price or did they give the points to you at the price that they were going for at the time that you added your name to the waitlist? I know there was a discussion about this either on this thread or another (I've lost track now) however there were some mixed responses and I thought that I'd check with someone who has been through the process more recently. Thanks!

Yes there was a price increase, but, no I paid the old price. Disney started charging all waiters the following year.

We've been waiting for BCV Sept UY since Oct. 07. I'm calling my guide tomorrow to be taken off the list. We ended up buying a new contract 160 pts at BWV, March UY. (immediate availability)

They had BCV points available with a March UY that I was ready to purchase, only to find out that the unit associated with these points were not registered in CA, so I could not buy them. The points at the BWV were registered in CA (miracle of miracle) so we jumped on it!

So, if my BC points aren't "registered" in Ca....I can't use them in Ca.???

Oh no! Sorry for being unclear. It has absolutely no bearing on where you can use your points, just on where we can purchase the points.

Originally DVC could not be sold in CA, so when we bought in 1998, we had to buy while we were in FLA. The new resorts SSR and AKL are full approved for sale (registered) in CA, so people buying them at Disneyland have no trouble. However, if you want to buy a sold out resort, such as BCV or BWV, there were very few units or buildings that were registered with CA. I think Californians who bought them in FL got them grandfatherered in or something - I'm really not sure. I just know that if you live in CA and want to buy at Disneyland, it is very difficult to find points that Disney can sell you for BCV and BWV. Now, if I went to FLA, I'm assuming I could buy any contract for any resort since I am not physically in CA at the time. Clear as mud? yeah, for me too -

are you waiting since March 1 of 2007 for BCV? I get that impression- wow! Have you noticed any Sept. BCV add-ons being given out to people ahead of you on the list? I mean, have you made noticeable progress?

I am thinking of giving it a year and then giving up and going re-sale a different use year. I wonder if it's difficult to get my $ back. DVC really needs to do some BCV ROFR for us!

Yup March 2007. But all I can do it wait. There have been a couple that I have noticed on TSS that were under 150 points but were stripped and that was when they were still well over $100pp and it was still only 98$ to add on through disney.

I had to give up a 50 pt BCV June UY contract today from a reseller that had all 08 and 26 '07 points.

I was put on the wait list for Sept UY for BCV or BWV for 160 points yesterday. My guide told me that the waitlist for BCV had about 15 people wanting >2000 points, but for BWV there were only 3 people for about 100 points so she thinks that I should be able to get Boardwalk within a few months. Fingers crossed hope she's right.

I FINALLY got my 50 point BCV add on. Fed Ex dropped the box off an hour ago. I totally forgot about it..figured I'd be waiting another year.

Let's see....Been waiting since March 12, 2007 so that's 1 year, 1 month and 10 days.

Question if someone can help.....it's a June 07 UY so they put 50 points into my '07 UY. Can I bank those? Normally I know I couldn't, but because I just got them can I bank them? I can't use them before May 31.

We just received our add on at BCV this week. We were looking for 50 points and had an April UY. It took one week!

So there is hope for all!!!!! I couldnt believe it came so fast. I then had to explain to my wife (who I told we probably wouldnt have to pay this for another 8-9 months) why that money would be showing up on the CC statement this month! Luckily....she loves BCV
