I know this has been asked before, but couldn't find the answer easily when I searched. We are waiting on closing - sent in my docs on Friday. How long after closing does it take till you're in the system. No big deal - we already have our trips reserved via point rental. Just curious.

depends on when the sellers send back their papers. I'm having trouble now because the seller is slow doing this.
Call the closing agent and see if they got sellers papers yet or call the person you delt with for the contract and ask them to call the seller to check if they sent papers in yet, that's what I have to do.
good luck

It usually takes about a week after you close. That was what it took us back in January. About 5 days after close, were were in the system without our points in the account. They gave us our member number and set us up with online access. 2 days after that our points were entered. I was able to check online each day until our points were there and then we called to make our first reservation. I think you have to make it through 2 groups, 1 to enter you into the system, and another group controls the points.

Yeah, I realize that variable. But I was wondering specifically after both parties had submitted docs and it had officially closed, how long till Disney gets it in the system? I thought I'd seen that talked about around here.

Hope yours comes through soon!

oh, thanks juncker! hadn't hit refresh!

Close to two weeks from closing from us. We just keep watching the DVC member website and it appeared on the maintenance fees page first then a day or two later on the contract page.

well Krisnchris, just as I thought the sellers sent papers back but had no witness signatures no them. Paper went back to them so this could now cost me another week at a loss of a lot of pts.
This seller has now cost me about 17/18 days between our agreeing on price and closing docs.

paults, I feel so sorry for you.

We talk a lot about delays from brokers, closing companies, but often, the seller is the cause for the delay.... It is very sad that it is the case for you...

I would talk to your agent about putting hard deadlines on these kind of stuff in the future. If you are loosing points because of their lack of interest then the agreement is changing and if they continue to play games you may want to stop the process and renegotiate or walk away... There are so many contracts out there you will find another one within a couple months. Have you looked up the deed on the orange county website. Since they are playing games there may be problems with the deed.

http://or.occompt.com/recorder/web/? Type their last name under "Grantor" and look for the deed listed as the home resort. Such that if the seller is Griswald and the points at BLT look for a deed under "Griswald" at BLT and open the deed and make sure it is for the proper number of points. Also look for leans or foreclosure documents with the same first and last names listed on the deed.
