How long till my points show up? Is this normal? UPDATED

Why does it feel like this is taking forever? We closed on our resale contract 3 days late on 6/18, we were in the system on 6/23 but we still have no points. Member services told me to contact TTS to find out why. That made no sense to me. We received our new member packet and an e-mail with our pin for the website. We haven't gotten anything from our guide, we don't even know which guide we have.
Could there be a problem with our points we haven't been informed about?
 
I would call TTS, Maybe there are no points available until UY rolls around. I am not sure why else MS would tell you to call your reseller. Good luck, sure hope that I am wrong!
 
Thanks, I e-mailed them and got a responze from Jason already. He contacted Disney for me and he said they are about 40 contracts behind in entering points. They are so great at TTS.
 
Thats strange....We too are new DVC members having closed on Sunday, 6/24. I called yesterday and our points were showing in their systems (although nothing shows on the member website) and I was able to make some ressies. Hopefully your points will show in the next day or two!

Did you buy direct or a resale?
 
We bought direct - I guess there must be a difference...
 
I had a problem due to an error by TCS. We too closed and every time I called Disney I was told I wasn't in the system. This went on for over 2 weeks (at the time others were in the sytem in 3-5 days). Finally, someone at MS-Accounting looked into it for me and actually helped me. Turns out TCS had given me the WRONG contract number on my paperwork. When I called to let them know they seemed very indifferent (for that reason alone I won't use TCS for a resale again). Chances are it doesn't happen all that often and it may not be your problem, but if this continues on you may want to talk to the Accounting dept. at DVC.
 
Thanks, we are still waiting. This is so annoying. If I wasn't in a hurry to make a reservation my points would have been already, I just know it.
 
I spoke to MS this morning, our points are still not available. I asked the CM who I could speak to about this since we have been in the system for over a week. She transfered me to Member Administration but all I got was the automated thing and when I picked each option it gave me to a voicemail. I called back and pressed the extension for Member accounting, a very nice CM confirmed I was in the system since 6/23 and she couldn't figure out why my points weren't showing. She put me on hold for a long time and came back on said she spoke with administartion and she will transfer me to them to help me. After being on hold so long I was going to hang up another nice CM picked up and told me that re-sales normally take longer but because phones were down last Wednesday they are behind a day and they are closed tomorrow for the holiday they will be behind another day. She explained my contract to me to make sure it was correct and she actually checked availability for me for my dates. I told her I was looking for the impossible, a 1 or 2 bedroom at BWV for 11/11-11/15. She put a 2 bedroom at SSR on hold for me and put me on the waitlist for BWV. I am so relieved someone was able to help me. I was so worried we would lose the 100 points from 2005 we had.

Thanks for letting us know what was going on. Hope they catch up by the end of the week if not sooner.

Good that you have a 2 bedroom booked - even if it isn't your first choice, at least you'll have a place to stay when you get there, LOL.
