how long should it take to join DVC?

Just wondering how long it should take to get everything done.

We sent in our money, etc.

How long until someone calls you or tells you you're a member?

We have done everything over the phone, does that take longer than if you were at WDW. If you sign up over at the BW, do they tell you right then and there that you're all set-as long as you give them your down payment and paperwork.

I'm no expert, but if I remember correctly, I gave 1/2 down over the phone with a credit card and made a reservation the same day. But to complete everything took a couple weeks I think.

You can call Member services and give them your SSN and they can look up your member # You should be in the system as soon as they receive your money

I called MS and they said that we were in the system and we could make reservations today if we needed to.

Does that mean everything is good to go?

Anybody ever done this, made res's and then something went wrong.

Vbfamily, welcome home!! We just did that very thing you are talking about. The day I bought into BCV's in Sept., I gave my down payment over the phone and I was able to make my first ressie for this April 2 hours later when I got my member number. It was as easy as that! The great thing about it was I was able to bank my 2002 points, combine them with 2003 points and essentially double my points on my first ressie and got a 1 br. It was wonderful, I share your excitement!
