How long posting on "Collector's Board"?

OK, I was kind of surprised at how small the response was to my thread about trading parties/meets, so I made this question a lot simpler!

Come on guys, we still have one day to get through, and I'm still miserable thatI DIDN'T GET TO GO! So, we have to keep "talking" so we can forget that we're here and they are there!

I have been reading and posting on the "Dis" boards for over a year now, BUT just started posting on the "Collector's" board in July of this year-2001!

OK, who's next?

I have been visiting the Collectors board and DIS since about November 1999. I finally registered in January of 2000.

Boy how time flies!!!

I have been on the dis since dec 99 but I started out on the trip planning board, then I add the others that involve planning ( i remember when there were fewer boards). But I didn't really hang out here until like March after I got really hooked and had to look at other stuff besides ebay. I gradually started posting more and I love chat but tell you what, I have posted more in this last week and I have in the last month.

I just registered in May and that's when I started collecting. I found the board when planning our first trip to Disney World in March for spring break. At that time thought about pins, because I had heard and read about them, but never looked at a pin cart the whole time we were there. I remember walking by the one in Epcot on our way to Norway for dinner, but never got back to it to look at any pins......go figure.

I was a DIS regular when the Collector's Board was started, but I can't remember the date. Within a few weeks, I was asked to moderate it.

If anyone remembers the "pre-pin" days, we talked about cels, lithographs, toys, beanies, WDCC, watches, cookie jars, salt and pepper shakers, mugs, etc.

We not only talked about what we collected, but why we collected in the first place. It's just something about the mouse that brings back happy memories.

When I saw how popular the pins had become, I asked that we establish a regular pin chat for the night that I was hosting.

And now, I'm doing DVC.

But, you know what? I still have my "stuff" and I'll still visit this board.

I registered in October of 2000 after starting pin collecting in November of 1999. What a help these boards and people have been!

I have been posting since about September of 1999, but I don't post tons. And then of course there was my profile getting wiped out once or twice so that my message count is far lower than it should be.

Am I the only one that feels like I am really missing something if I don't come and check the messages here everyday? My wife says I am an addict....

Well, I started coming to the DIS in early '99 when I was looking at purchasing DVC. I finally registered in September of 1999, and started coming to the collector's board almost immediately (I'm a huge Disney collector--not only pins)

I too remember when the conversations here were about a lot more than pins. It was a little slower then.

I love all things Disney.

I believe that we registered in December of 1999 and started asking questions because we were going to WDW for the New Year Celebration and were going to try something called pin trading which we had no knowledge of at the time. Started an addiction. Been here ever since and love it!

Board 6 months before I registered ...finally got up enough courage to actually ask
questions! So I registered after we moved...Nov. 2000.

Then I discovered the rest of the DIS.lol
