How long is too long?

We do 18 days. Last year it was a 5 day disney cruise followed by Disney. This year it is 5 days at universal and the rest at Disney. I never want to go home. Ever! We do every park twice except AK and both of the water parks twice. Plus arrival day we do DTD do some shopping and eat.

My magic number is 10. It's ample time to do everything that we want without having to rush. In 2012 we were "stranded" for 3 extra days due to Superstorm Sandy and I was maxed out. The 11th day wasn't bad but by the 12th I was ready to just sit around the resort all day long while doing not a thing (we went to Epcot).

We've only done 2 trips, first was 15 nights, 2nd 18 nights. next trip is 21 nights but split between WDW and Universal, probably 15/6 or something like that. Never really miss home to be honest, too busy having fun ;) But because we go for a long time, we can take it much easier and don't rush around. When your airfare is as much as some peoples entire vacation (albeit a shorter vacation) it's more economical to stay longer :rotfl2:

Air is a big part of it. Dh figures if we are paying that much for air might as well stay. I'm in the us but it is a big expense still.

I agree with you and Pad406

This is one of the reasons we do long stays too. We go once a year which has varied between 11- 16 month gaps between. But the cost of airfare makes it not worth going unless we do it once and do it well. Our shortest trip was 15 nights. We average around 16-17 nights and due to our return flights being canceled we are there 20 nights this year.

The 17 night mark was perfect for us. I can't say we were desperate to go home but we weren't too upset about leaving. Last trip we had 18 nights and by the last 2 days I was ready to go home, not because it wasnt' fun but I was just ready to be home. I was really sick on that trip and can't tell if that played a part but I wont intentionally book one quite as long as this upcoming trip again - at least not for a while. Not sure I could afford it again any time soon :scared:

Our trip coming up is 17 days and previous was 14,28,16 you get the idea. I could not do less then 10.

12 nights is perfect for us. Leisurely time in the parks, no feeling like we are missing out if we want to head back for a nap, plus a couple of days for hanging at the pool and relaxing.

I've done 7, 9 and 16 day trips. I think 12 days is ideal for me. My coming October/November trip is 11 days only because flights 2 or 3 days more would increase in cost by over $400.

My longest trip so far has been 11 days and it wasn't too long. I think my limit would be about 14 days.

We have done 7 and 9 and 7 was too short..we are doing 9 again..time off work and finances make it hard. Last time was an RCI trade so cheaper. I think I could do 14 easily ...

We stay 21 nights and it is just right. We are ready to come home on the last day but loved every minute of it.

Wow, 21 days! Good for you guys... That's a long time. We are going in September so couldn't go too long bc of school. And we have a puppy we are boarding at $41/day! Lol but, last time we stayed 6 (I got sick for 3!) this time we are staying 6 again...

I think our limit is about 4 or 5 days... we are definitely the oddballs on this one. :lmao:

This year we've been a little nuts, because it had been so long since we were able to go to WDW. We've done the long weekend (4D/3N and 3D/2N) stays in January, March, April, two in May, and coming up in August and October! DH has said "that's it" for the year, but I KNOW I can convince him to do at least one more stay - especially for Christmastime!!! :duck:

He wants to do less-frequent trips next year and have longer stays at Deluxe resorts, and I definitely think he has a valid point. It'll be really nice to do that - I suggested 5-day stays 4 times a year - maybe January, April, July and October? We will still do day trips, but we love staying on-site!

Anything longer than 5 days will probably lead to insanity for us! :crowded: I'm pretty jealous of everyone who gets to stay for a week or more, though! I, personally, never get tired of being there! :cloud9:

Doing nine days in August did five days last October and can't wait... Now will have time to relax and enjoy each park and have a pool day or two and still pop over to a park in the evening.... Actually have plans to move to Orlando in about three years!!!!

Honestly, these days, 10 days is too short for me :( I am spoiled by our 12 - 13 day trips. Anything shorter feels too rushed

We went for 8 days back in March and it was very hard to say good-bye after such a short stay.

5-6 days is enough for us. We start missing the bay area, the weather, our friends, family, food (believe it or not I start going crazy looking for my comfort food after the 4th day). They always say there's no place is like home.

We are booked for 10 days on our upcoming trip. Generally in the past we do 5-7 days. I was a little worried that we would get homesick or bored, but we booked several tours and do plan on some resort time.

Our last trip was 10 nights and it wasn't long enough. I could have stayed and stayed. Our next trip is 8 days/7 nights and I'm trying my hardest to squeeze in 1 more day, if not 2. We are already right up against school restarting and I have a work obligation at the start of the trip that requires me in the office but I'm trying to work a miracle to eek out 1 more day, at least

We did 10 days a few years back and found that to be perfect. We did 7 days last year and could have used a few more days to poke around the parks and enjoy the resort.

We originally had 8 nights scheduled, which would be our longest stay ever. Found a great flight ($700 for 4 people!), and was able to add two additional nights. Got the water park option and am really looking forward to relaxing a little more on this trip.
