Half a mile. Ten to fifteen minutes.

There are also the Friendship boats that will pick you up at the dock between the Dolphin and Swan.

Correct. Just be aware that the boat from Epcot will first stop at Boardwalk, then go to Yacht Club, and then stop at the Swolphin. The boat will take you much longer than just walking.

Especially if you just miss a boat. It could take half an hour to go between Epcot and the Swan/Dolphin.

It's not a long walk. Walking through BW is faster than going via YC. Like it said earlier only 10-15 minutes.
