How long is the process when buying direct?

New here, hello everyone!

Looking into buying direct from DVC and wanted to know how long the process takes before we can book our vacation.

Usually within a few hours of buying add-on points, they are available for use. I'm not sure how long it takes when you are a new member, as they also have to set up an account for you but I believe it is still within a day or so. My first contract was via resale, which take longer to load after they close. With direct contracts you are able to make a reservation prior to closing (obviously). You can make the purchase contingent on a specific reservation you want when you talk to your guide (salesperson) and they can see if they can pull some strings to get you in.

Everything should be in place within a day after receipt of deposit.

Paying the direct premium price expedites the process.

Thanks for the responses...we decided to go for it and we are waiting to hear from the sales woman. This is so exciting! We've been annual passholders to Disneyland for 20 years. Never been to WDW, so hopefully we will make it out there in the next couple of years!!

Congrats on your decision! Like other posters stated, it's surprisingly pretty fast! The only wait is having to wait for the online code access, which takes a couple weeks. Again, congrats!
