How long is the Character Breakfast?

Since we can't find out our rotation ahead of time, I'm trying to book spa and palo times that will work regardless of rotation. But I need to know...how long does the character breakfast last? We have early seating, so it starts at 8:15, right? Would 9:15 be too early for a spa appointment?

Hi Kim!!!! The character breakfast is severely over rated IMO and lasts no longer than an hour (though we were out there in 45 minutes). The characters are SO rushed (nothing like at WDW) and stop enough to say hi and have theirr picture taken with the ships photographer. After that, they're on to the next table. Since we have late seating, we're probably not going this time. I thought it was a waste of time, and the food is better in Topsiders anyway. 8:15 breakfast with a 9:15 time, might be cutting it close, it would work if only you are going to the spa. Then you could sneak out a little early, or just head up alone after it's onver. If you're planning on the couples massage at that time, I think you'd be cutting it too close (unless you leave a little early) to drop off the kids and make it upstairs. We made our massage ressies for Monday and our brunch is Monday also. We have our couples massage appointment at 9:15 and then brunch is at 11:30. So, maybe I'll see you there!!!!!

I agree that you need to allow an hour for all the characters to get to your table. I've heard people on both sides of the fence for the CB but we have enjoyed it both cruises & will go again. The kids always have fun & the mood is very festive.

Our Character Breakfast on the May 14 Repo Cruise was an hour.
We thought it was perfect. We have a now 2 year old boy, then 23 months. And his patience for meals, even meals with Mickey was short.
I was impressed that they got every character to every table for a photo opp in 60 mins.
I later told one of the photographers how impressed I was at the efficiency and she commented that they were slow that day....they try for closer to 30 min.
So the previous poster is correct, its not like some of the on land opportunities, that give you more time with characters. Having said all that, our table had two girls (6 & 7) and our DS and each kid got a hug, an autograph and picture with each of the at least 6 characters.
Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Chip, Dale and Maybe Donald. I can't remember him for some reason.
One other thing to share....
Not all the characters were accompanied by ships photographers, so make sure you take your own camera. I know Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy were and Chip and Dale were not, but can't remember about Pluto and possibly Donald.

I have to disagree that the character breakfast is overrated. It was a lot of fun. We were a table of 8 adults (all DISers) who had a great time and were able to get some great pictures with the characters.

The food isn't anything special but then I've never really liked DCL's restaurant (non buffet) breakfasts anyway. It's the character interaction that makes it so fun.

I'd say an hour to be in the spa is cutting it too close since you are supposed to check in a little early to fill out your form. I would shoot for 9:45 or 10 to be safer. Most of us had Palo brunch ressies for 10:30 and 11 and we had to leave early from our 9:15 character breakfast to get there. Some of the characters didn't get to our table until later in our breakfast.

Donald isn't at the breakfast. You usually only get either Chip or Dale because they do dancing during the breakfast while the other characters are going around still. We were lucky on our last cruise & got both of them.
