How long is the bus ride between AKL and MK?

We are going on a land/sea in Oct and had our hearts set on staying on the monorail system (Polynesian), however, we are currently booked at AKL since Polynesian was full (at least for our package). AKL looks great, but I am concerned we will be giving up a lot of convenience. (We are new to the Disney World vacation thing). Is it a long ride from AKL to the MK (or Epcot)? Will we still be able to easily take a mid-day break (we have a 3 year old and I am pregnant)?

We stayed at AKL in May with our 2 sons (3 and 6 yrs old). We always returned for a mid-day break and had no problems. The bus ride was about 10-15 to MK. It was pretty quick. I loved AKL transportation. Since you don't share a bus with any other resort, bus service is great there! The only time we waited a long time was for Downtown Disney. I swear it felt like it was 20 minute wait for the bus to come and it took 30 minutes to get there! But the parks were no problem at all for us.

We waiting maybe 5-10 minutes for bus to arrive and then it was about a 10 minute ride to MK park. This was May after school was out in our SE state and hotel was packed.

The only problem we encountered (but it looked like it was at every hotel bus stop) was we stayed until the park closed and then it was a long wait for room on a bus to return. This is where the monorail would help, but had we planned our exit earlier I don't think it would have been a problem.
