How long will it take us to drive from WDW area (we'll be staying at HIFS) to the port? We'll be driving ourselves in a rental van. Also, is it easy to find? I'd hate to get lost and miss it!!:(

It takes about an hour to an hour and 15 minutes. It is very easy to find and you should have no problem finding it.

Just look for the big ship to your left.

Happy sailing!!

I saw on the map that it's about 50 miles or so. I was just wondering if it is a straight shot. Sounds like it is. Thanks again.

Its a little more than 50 miles but very easy and pleasant ride. From where you are staying you want to head east and catch the Greeneway like you were returning to the airport south entrance. Just stay on the Greeneway past the airport and you will come to the Beeline SR527 exit. Go east on that and it runs straight to the port. The only place you have to change direction is right after crossing the St Johns river where the Beeline forks. Watch for the roadsign overhead with the ship on it, stay right and it takes you to the port. You will pay a total of $3.25 in tolls, stopping at two toll booths on the Greeneway and one right after getting on the Beeline.

Hi heart4dis.

If you head towards Tampa, figure on about 24, 950 miles. Make sure the rental van comes with unlimited mileage...

Just for the record, the Beeline is 528 not 527.

If you are driving at night, watch out for the split in the road where the beeline forks near the St. Johns River. We missed the turn and continued forward which took us directly to the Kennedy Space Center. We came right up to the visitors center and saw the replica space shuttle. We turned around, then took route 1 south until we caught up with 528 again.

Is that where it becomes part of I-95 for a while? That's a very confusing split.

Here's a copy of a map from dave's website, this might help you some.

That's it. It looks so simple in that image, but I remember panicking the first time we made the drive and came across it unexpectedly.
