How long in each 'land' in MK?

I am new to the Disboards, and I totally am addicted!~ lol..but getting to the subject of this post. How much time should I expect to stay in each "land" in MK? I am trying to schedule days with activities and meals, and don't want to over or undo time. Could you guys give me suggestions on how long I should expect to be in each section? I would say it would depend on how old your kids are and what rides you're interested in. On our recent trip, my son was only 3.5 so we spent a long time Fantasyland and much less time in the other areas since he wasn't interested in riding rides like Space Mountain or Splash Mountain. We also spent far more time in the Toontown Fair than I'm sure families with older kids would, if they even went there.

My children will be 17 (but he has disability and has a serious developmental delay), 13,4 and 6 at the time of our trip. I was planning a day in AdventureLand, Frontier Land and Liberty Square, then break for lunch in one of those areas, go back to resort to rest and relax, then come back and do Fantasy Land and Toon Town Fair the rest of the day. I am planning my days by looking at the maps and going from there. We went to DWD in 1998 when my two older boys were younger and I feel I missed alot, and I don't want that to happen again, so I am trying to pay more attention to details and more planning. Magic Kingdom is so big and with your kids being those ages, I'd say you'll never get it all done in one day. You will need at least 2 days, if not 3.

It takes us a good 3 days if we want to see and do all our favorites.

One land can take a half a day even starting at park opening.

You have to take into consideration, walking, lines, resting and eating.

We always start in Fantasyland since that is our DDs favorite. If we are there at park opening then we can finish Fantasyland by 12:00p. Then we usually head to ToonTown. That can take the least amount of time for us because all we really do is Mickey and Minnie's houses and Goofy's Rollercoaster. Then we can take the train to Frontierland and do some grown up rides like Splash and Thunder but if it's too crowded and the lines are too long even with FAstpass, we usually run over to do Alladin and then leave.

Sometimes after Toontown, we use the secret back walkway and head to Tomorrowland instead and do Space Mountain (fastpass if we have to) and Buzz ride. Tomorrowland doesn't take too long for us because all we really do is Space and Buzz...sometime Astro if the line isn't long. My kids didn't like Stitch ride so we don't have to take that.

But we usually leave after Fantasyland/Toontown and do the other lands another day.

The lands that take the most time for MY family are Fantasyland and Frontierland/Adventureland, then Tomorrowland/Toontown.

I am planning 3 days in MK. I am trying to figure out how to break up the three days. I was thinking one day for half the park, another day for the other half, and the third, just take it as it comes. I didn't know if that idea would work though. I have the maps and have been reading the Unoffical Guide to WDW, but I just wanted opinions. Thank you very much for your help! I totally appreicate it.

Fantasyland really needs to be done in the AM - it gets really crazy in the afternoon. I woud do Fantasyland and Toontown in the AM (send someone in your party to get a FP for Splash or Space Mt. early) then finish with a mountain before lunch.

THe second MK day I would start with Frontierland or Tomorrowland (reverse first day schedule) and take advantage of FP for Buzz Lightyear, SPace Mountain, Big Thunder Mt. Railraod etc.). Maybe finish up in Liberty Square before breaking for lunch/swim break.

The third day I would see which rides you want to re-do and plan accordingly.

At night many of the fast passes are already gone so I would just do rides and/or shows that don't have long waits - Mickey Philharmagic, see Cinderellebration, Jungle Cruise, TTA etc.

I feel the MK is the busiest park no matter what day. I usually take two days also and do it in the morning or until the lines are over whelming. Usually 3 lands and then outta there till the next day. The mornings are great!!! Lines aren't too bad especially on an early entry day. My daughter are 5 and 8 so we still do a huge variety of rides and shows.

Plan it but dont drive yourself crazy if you cant stick to it 100% go with the flow and the mood of the children. Is they start getting tired hit the parade route early get a late takeout lunch and sit and eat while waiting. Head back to resort for break or to another park. I liked to do Epcot in after noon. When they were little they would fall asleep in stroller and it was perfect to walk around world showcase while they slept.
