How long has connections been around?

I am thinking of joining to try and save a bit of money. I was just wondering how long they have been in business. Anyone know? I see that they carry Barnes and Nobel gift cards, and that is the company the school uses for our law and medical books. Any savings we could possible get buying text books would be great. Anyone recall the limit of those cards that someone can get for B and N?
