How long from MK to EPCOT?

When you look at Disney Dining information they tell you to plan 1 hour and 30 minutes to take Disney Transportation from one place to another. Most of our touring will have us at MK or EPCOT and I'm wondering if I am going to lose a lot of touring time by having an ADR at a monorail resort or our evening park. I'm thinking in the real world MK to EPCOT or EPCOT to MK will be more like 1 hour door to door and HS or AK more like the 1 hour and 30 minutes. :confused3

I don't want to do too much waiting around, but I also don't want the stress of being late for an ADR ... so many sights for the holidays I shouldn't care? :surfweb:

Is this reasonable or do I have to plan for lots of cab fare? How easy is that to get (not at park closing!)? How much? $20? :3dglasses

Any other tips about getting around "on time" when that is necessary?:wizard:

Thanks in advance! :worship:

I try to plan my meals around the park I will be closest to at that time. If I'm going to be in Epcot, I will try to find a place to eat within Epcot or in one of the Epcot resorts. I don't want to have to leave Epcot, wait for the monorail to get there, ride it to TTC and then transfer to the resort monorail to get to a monorail resort for my meal. That could involve....
10 mins to get out of Epcot
10 mins wait for the monorail
15 min ride to TTC
5-10 mins to make transfer
5-10 mins to get to the restaurant
This is close to an hour. Have I done it that way? Yep. But only because I have been to WDW so many times (never thought I would be able to say this) and don't mind 'wasting' time traveling from point A to point B.

It depends on timing. If the monorail isn't at the station, it could take ten minutes for the next one to arrive at Epcot. The ride from Epcot to the Transportation Ticket Center is another ten minutes. If your reservation is at the Polynesian, you can walk over, which is another ten minutes, roughly. Otherwise if you're going to the GF or Contemporary, you gotta wait for the monorail again. Add another ten minutes to the journey.

I'd estimate the entire journey would take an hour.

Going place to place and taking more than 45 minutes to do it fills me with loathing. I'm paying large dollars to experience disney, not their buses nor their monorail.

I figure if I have a rental car and it still takes that long sobeit, but I'm just too antsy to spend that much time traveling. Eat wherever your mouth is at that moment or where you expect it to be... if you can't justify the rental car maybe try to limit those long treks across the world for a meal.
