were cruising out of Miami in Feb, For the second leg of our trip I was thinking of flying out of orlando and staying near there. How long of a drive is it from the Port of Miami to Orlando area hotels, like the Nikleodeon resort?

3.5-4 hours, the fastest way is the Turnpike all the way which will cost you almost $20 in tolls but since you'll be coming out of the port you could just take I-95 to Ft.Pierce (exit 129) and grab the turnpike from there since the turnpike is like a mile away, doing this you'll only pay like $8 on the Turnpike. The 3.5-4 hours is of course with normal to light traffic,if you're going to be anywhere from Miami to West Palm Beach around rush hour (7am-10am and 3:30-7pm) you could be looking at 5+ hours and I would also avoid 95 and grab the turnpike.

To get to the Nickelodeon resort from the turnpike is very easy, take the turnpike to Osceola parkway (exit 249) go west on it and get off at Vineland rd (535) turn right going north and make a left at World Center dr. (536),you'll see the Nickelodeon resort on the left.

DEFINITELY TAKE THE TURNPIKE!
The lighter and may I say ... less insane traffic on the turnpike more than makes up for the tolls.
We've driven that road several times over the last few years and found I-95 to be crazy busy almost any time of the day or night, especially when you get near Miami. It seems that the 75MPH speed limit is just a suggestion for an awefull lot of the motorists on I-95 (driving this SLOW will cause you to become the focus of someones road rage ;)

And let me say.....Turnpike!!! For the love of God, stay off 95!!! Man, I hate 95. The Turnpike is much easier to drive...not nearly as many nutty drivers.

Best tip I can offer is do NOT take 95. Take the turnpike all the way north 95 at the best of times is dangerous...it's not unusual to see people doing 85 in the slow lane.

The turnpike is easy to get on and off, and as a PP said, Osceola parkway is the best way to go to the Nick resort. I *THINK* there's a small toll on the parkway before you get to 535, but I can't remember if the toll plaza is before or after 535.
