I'm booking Super Shuttle and we need a ride from Camelot to LAX on Sunday March 16th. Our flight is scheduled for 12.00 noon. Super Shuttle is giving me 4 options of times to be picked up and I want to go for the latest but only if it gives us enough time to get there and make it through check in and security etc or would Super Shuttle only give me options that would make sure of that? Does anyone know how long it usually takes on a Sunday to get to LAX (especially using Super Shuttle as I know they will stop to pick others up as well). I'm pretty sure we have to check in for a domestic flight 2 hours prior to the flight? Can anyone confirm that?

The 4 options they are giving us are:
8:50 - 9:05
8.35 - 8:50
8:20 - 8:35
8:05 - 8:20

For a 12:00 flight which would you choose?

My advice would be take the earliest option. It will take between 45 mins (good time) and 1.5 hours to get to LAX, depending on traffic which is hard to predict. Given it's Sunday it will be quieter, but then you have to factor in any shuttle stops.

Two hours is recommended at the airport but not always necessary. The thing is, you can't tell till you are there. LAX can sometimes be a breeze and sometimes a nightmare!

If you take the early option, the worst thing is that you'll be around an hour early.

I see you are Australian - might pay to check the terminal nubmers for your domestic flights - if you've bought a code share type ticket, sometimes the flight is operated by a different airline, with a corresponding switch of terminal. Your travel agent can advise

I agree with farmfresh I wouldn't want to push it past that 8:20 slot, and probably would use the earlier option. You never know with traffic and security how long things will take and its better to be safe then sorry.

Thanks, I really appreciate your input! I'll go with the early one then, though somehow it's much easier to get up early to go TO Disneyland than to LEAVE it :sad1:

Yes. I've seen the line to get through security at terminal 1 zig-zag back and forth inside the terminal, and then spill outside to the sidewalk, and then stretch all the way down to terminal 2.

The best advice is get there plenty early and bring along something fun / interesting to do to pass the time.

Hi, we did this a few weeks ago but with Disney Resort Express. We flew out on a Saturday at 12.30pm and caught the bus at 8.40am and ended up with time to spare. I hate being late or rushing, so this time worked well for us.

How much time did you have to spare? Lots or just minutes? We ended up booking the 8.20-8.35 slot instead of the earliest of 8.00-8.15. After asking our shuttle driver's opinion, he said it can vary...that sometimes you can book the earliest time and then end up having to drive into residential areas to do more pick-ups anyway. I'd really hate to be late but hoping because it's a Sunday we'll be okay. We leave from terminal 4....hoping it won't be as awful as terminal 1 sounded!

We had enough time to go through security, then wander towards our gate after stopping to sit down and have some lunch and grab a coffee. We were flying to Vegas so didn't have to go through imigration, which would add to the time.

Thanks! We're also flying to Vegas so here's hoping we'll have the same good luck!
