We are currently in our VERY early stages of planning our next trip which will be over Xmas/New Year 2017/18

We have decided we want to visit Universal which we haven't gone to in over 10+ years so obviously there will be huge changes to the parks as well as the facts the boys will be grown ups.

We want to stay onsite to take advantage of the front of line pass perk but we're unsure whether to stay for 1 or 2 nights.

Can anyone with recent experience please advise any suggestions greatfully received.

Personally I've done both parks in 1 day but if you've not been for a while and want to take things a bit slower and enjoy everything I'd suggest staying 2 nights and not rushing, especially at that time of year.

A lot more has happened at Universals parks than Disney and the addition of the two Harry Potter areas spanning both parks are in my opinion THE most impressive things to hit Orlando.

I absolutely recommend you do at least two nights (which will give you three days front of line access) as you're going to need the extra time as the parks will be busy - especially the HP areas (where you will get early morning access as you're styling on site)

You will have a great time!

We stayed for 2 nights in April this year as part of a Disney/Uni/Disney split (5 at OKW, 2 at HRH, 5 at BCV) and loved it.
In fact, next year we are expanding to 3 nights onsite at Hard Rock and I couldn't imagine doing the Uni parks (and Citywalk) justice with only 1 night.

I'm sure if you go for at least 2 nights you will have a great time!

Id say at least 2 days to do both parks, also if you want to cover all the HP attractions you will use up a lots of time there. We always buy the 2 day ticket and last two years you get 3rd day free , So we cover it 3 days without going crazy ..!

Currently 3 days seem right (2 nights onsite if it gets your 3 full days e.g. checking in a 7am on your first day and not having too early a flight on your last day)

But you're going in 2017/18 and you'll get a new jurassic park and a new king kong ride as well as a new waterpark (not sure if it will be useable at that time of year) and it will be a busy period

So I'd probably consider 3 night/4 park days for comfort and 2 nights/3 park days as a minimum

With front of line 1 night is ample but with older kids i d stay to and take advantage of city walk blue man etc

I'd say 2 minmum. We did 7 nights Universal last year and still didn't do everything.

We always do 2 nights - that gives you 3 full days and we find that's enough to get everything done with the FOTL perk :)

It depends also what time you get there. We wanted three or possibly four full days at the Universal parks but we arrive at Universal after our flight so needed four nights to guarantee three days and also a fourth if we still have things to do the day we check out.

We always do a minimum of two - maximum three and we stay on site. We tried two at Christmas but found that as the parks were particularly busy that it wasn't quite enough. We've got three planned for next month.
