We're going to US/IOA in Orlando in November. We have been to Orlando many times but have gone to WDW so this will be our first trip to US/IOA. I see that the hotels at US have a "stay more, save more" rate going on right now. How long do you think this rate will be out there for?

I checked on the HRH and RPR for pricing and while this rate is probably very good I'm still questioning is it worth that much money! I'm pricing 7 nights 11/20-11/27 and the HRH is $1390.46 and RPH is $1194.38!

I just checked on bookit.com and we can stay at Four Points by Sheraton Orlando Studio City, a Universal Orlando Partner Hotel, for $767.64 in a 550 sq. ft. Deluxe room. That's almost half of what we would be paying if we stayed at HRH! I just don't know what to do!!

Our friends from the UK are meeting us in Orlando and will probably stay at HRH. Any opinions on this? Help me decide what to do!! :confused3

Some benefits of staying onsite would be that you have the unlimited express pass, during your time they range from $25 to $36 per person per day for a regular express pass that gets you in only once per attraction. Also, onsite guest get into WWOHP an hour early each day.

Also, you don't have to worry about shuttles or parking if you are staying onsite. You can just take a short hike or boat ride to City Walk and off to the parks you go.

When we go to Universal now we stay onsite, the pools are great and the closeness to the parks and city walk is very convienient. Also, we have kids and the express pass is a must with kids :)

we are staying at the RPR in August. While I am not that happy with the rate of $186 per night knowing there are so many less expensive places to stay, it is so worth it (for us) to stay onsite. Driving in, parking and walking to the parks can be a nightmare in the heat so the ability to walk from out hotel (5-10 min.) to the parks is a huge plus...and we love the walk. Also agree with everything mjohnson96 had to say. We wouldn't have it any other way.

Am I reading it correctly about the parking if you stay at the resort? They charge you to park? We normally fly in but this year will be driving, but we did have a rental one year at WDW and I don't believe they charge you to park if parking/staying at on of their on-site resorts. I may be wrong though.

It is $15 a night for parking, most resorts build this into their rates so everyone has to pay if they have a car or not.

The worst hotel I stayed at with this was in Kansas City last month, they charged us $20to park but then opened their parking garage up to the public so it was full. I asked what we had to do and they said to find another parking garage, which we would have paid an additional $20 to park at.

Never staying there again :)

What if you take a taxi to the resort? Do you still have to pay for parking even though you don't have a vehicle?
