How long for Fantasyland?

Trying to finalize my touring plans. We are planning on hitting Fantasy Land first thing (at opening) on a Monday (non MM day). How long should it take to do all the rides in FL, minus Storybook because it will be closed.

We did FL first thing on a non MM day and spent about an hour to 90 min. But we didn't go on EVERYTHING. Actually, we went on two different non MM days. So what we didn't do one day, we did the other. But we didn't go on the merry go round. We went to Peter Pan first, then most of the other FL dark rides were walk on or very short line. We did IASW at the end of our FL time because that ride takes 15 min. just on the boats. If you allow 2 hours for everything you should be able to that if you arrive to the gates before opening.

2) Dumbo
3) Matterhorn/Alice/Mad Tea Party
4) Mr. Toad
5) Pinocchio/Snow White/King Arthur Carousel

Should be able to get all of these done in just over an hour on a Monday morning, if you go in this order. For IASW add 15-20 min. If you (for some odd reason) switch up this order and do like Pinocchio first and Peter Pan (or Dumbo) last, it will take up to 2-3 hours.

I went last month and was able to do all the rides in Fantasyland (minus the carousel and Teacups) in an hour and that was during the last week of the summer schedule, when all the APs were unblocked. So an hour should definitely be good

we do Casey as one of our last FL rides. We love the canal boats too but save it some times for the night time as dd loves to go through the arches with all of the glittery lights. It's scheduled to come back the day before our next trip

If I were to include Storybookland Canal Boats and Casey Jr. into a non-MM FL morning plan (yes, I know BOTH are down now, but for future reference), I'd ride SBLCB between 3 and 4 (right before Toad) and Casey Jr. with the other 5s.

Peter Pan is my most favouritist ride. I love it but obviously everyone else does too cause it always had the longest line. I think going to that one first is a good idea.

We're going to do Fantasyland on our MM day but I know DS will be desperate to get to Buzz ( to ride a few times!) so it would be good if we could leave Pinocchio and Snow White till the late morning or early afternoon.

However if we were going to have to wait for them later in the day I'll make sure we do them during MM and we'll just have Fastpass Buzz, I guess?

For some reason, Pinocchio and Snow White never develop lines like Peter Pan, Mr. Toad, or Alice. While they are walk-ons during MM, even in the afternoon on a MM day the line shouldn't be more than 15-20 min. Maybe it's cause they are the two scariest dark rides. I personally love both. If he really wants to get on BLAB, by all means spend some MM time on that, then grab some BLAB FPs and continue touring, leaving these two dark rides for later.

I agree but would add that the Buzz line builds pretty slowly in the morning. You can go to Buzz after MM and for the next hour the line is usually 5 minutes long. It does build some by noon (15 minutes?) but it has been a long time since I have seen it over 25 minutes long at any time of day.

Bottom line is IMO you do not need to rush out of Fantasyland and skip rides to get to Buzz.

It's such a relaxing ride with great details. I think it's one of those half dozen rides that is great to do both during the day & also at night.

My challenge is that when i walk by it during the day...it always seems to have a longish line....which was why i was curious when to do it on an early morning FL romp.

DLR....I didn't realize that Casey was closed for refurb as well (along with Storybookland), thanks for the info.

On July 17th, we started at Peter Pan, ended at the Matterhorn (since on the map, it is Fantasyland) and we completed Fantasyland in just under 2.5 hours. First time i ever hit every ride!

When my DS was "desperate to ride Buzz" at age 7 or 8, we rode it 3 times the last 15 minutes of MM (on two different occasions)....he loved it & we even got another Buzz FP around noon & rode it again that evening.

I say this because I think that you could probably find a less than 10 min. line for Snowy & Pinocchio Friday afternoon (when you are more in a leisurely go with the flow mode & want to enjoy strolling thru Fantasyland for pics & to enjoy all the great touches.).

If it was me I'd bail on Fantasyland at the 40 min. mark & go do Buzz 2-3 times. (& then pick up your first FP at SM or Indy on the hour). But if you ride Pinocchio & Snowy first & then head to Buzz the first 10 min. of Gen. Opening, that would probably work too.

This has been my experience as well....& I also think that Pinocchio is one of the MOST underated attractions at DLR (probably because it's one of my top 5 movies of all time...of any genre) & it's NOT at WDW! Alice & Pinocchio are two rides I actually wish would go slower so i could fully take in all the details.

HydroGuy (& a couple of other posters DizyAmie? Dan&Amy?) was the guy who gave me my suggested MM touring schedule the first time I went to DLR (in 40 years). That was 3 years & 8 visits ago. I'm an early morning geek & MM geek....so all of his tips & advice worked very well with the way i like to tour (& the way i enjoyed touring at WDW).

His tip threads have saved my family hundreds of hours (avoiding lines, FP pick ups, park hopping etc.) Our family visits to DLR have become stress free because we zig when others are zagging, we have a flexible plan the first couple hours & then having accomplished so much in the morning, we can relax & freelance the rest of the day when it's crowded.

All of us MM lovers who post here (HG, DLR, DangerMouse, me & others) might have a slightly different ride order (Matterhorn or Alice 3rd.....Tea Cups before Toady or vice versa) but all of us would agree on the main components of:

PP first...always first.
& if first on PP, you can ride Dumbo on the first or second cycle.
then Alice or Matterhorn next (i like to ride both sides of the M)
then Tea Cups or Toady (or vice versa)
then the Carousel/SW/Pinoccio in any order.
& get a FP at :00.
