We are taking grandson age almost 4 for a few short days at WDW. We would like to do a character breakfast but we prefer to be able to get to the park by opening time and get going. If we go to either the Crystal Palace or Chef Mickey's, how long should we plan on for breakfast? :earsboy:

Also, forgot to ask...how early can you get in MK with PS for the CP? I think it begins at 8:00 am, how early will they let you into the park to get to the CP? Thanks

They will let you into the MK at 8:00 a.m. for breakfast at the Crystal Palace. Your PS will probably be for 8:05 a.m.

It is big fun. Actually, my husband and I have PS for the Friday before Labor Day - just the two of us - no kids. I was there in February for the first time (DH wasn't with me) and I LOVED it. At that time we had a PS for 8:15 a.m. and we were in the park just after it opened at 9:00 a.m. LOVED IT!!! I have the same 8:15 a.m. reservation for this trip - can't wait. It's a fun atmosphere and the breakfast buffet was very good!

Have fun!

Allow about an hour for a character breakfast. At Crystal Palace even an early PS will probably have you out and in the park slightly after 9AM. Unless you're the first through the turnstiles at 8AM and basically run to Crystal Palace, there will be a line of others in front of you waiting to check-in. We had an 8:10PS and were through the turnstiles quickly, but by the time we made it down Main Street (the turnstiles don't open until 8AM, sometimes a few minutes late), checked in and were seated, it was 8:25. We were able to eat quickly, but had to wait for all the characters to make it around and a little after 9AM the characters do a dance around the restaurant and you wouldn't want your little one to miss that. We were out of CP at 9:15 or so, and headed straight into Adventureland. We were able to ride Alladin's Magic Carpets three times in a row, it was so uncrowded and then immediately headed to Splash Moutain where we practically walked on.

I would agree to allow about an hour. If you really want to be to the park at opening, then I would go to either Chef Mickey's or O'hana's and get a 7:30-7:45 PS.

It usually takes us about 1 hour at Chef Mickeys...and thats making quite a few trips to the buffet. ;)
We like to do CMs on our MGM day. Even though we arent in the area,I dont feel the need to get to MGM for opening, like I do at the other parks since the shows dont start right at park opening time. Last month we had a PS for 8:00 at CMs and we were entering MGM at 9:30...just in time to get 1 ride done(GMR) before the shows started.

my suggestion is to do what we're doing... eating a pop tart or granola bar or banana in the room and hitting fantasyland for an hour before our 10:15 ps... best of both worlds, imo...

We did CP with an 8:15 PS. Went into the park a little after 8, stopped to take some pictures, ate a great breakfast and left a little after 9. It was great getting into the park early and being right there when you were done eating. Next time I will try for an 8:05 PS so we don't have to rush off.
