I am a nail biter, and even though I don't foresee major problems, I hate waiting for approvals....drives me nuts!
So from the time you say "yes" how long do you get the good word? Days?? week??
I think we are going to do it tuesday...
Since DVC handles it's own financing and has control over the membership, few are declined (and if there is any credit problem, they will usually still approve but require a larger down payment).
You should be able to get approval quickly - within days. As soon as you have paid the deposit you will be able to make reservations.
To give you an idea of fast they can be; We purchased our first contract on a Tuesday after taking the tour at WDW. We used the points that night and for the rest of our stay. If you don't forsee any problems then there probably won't be.
I bought through the mail and I told my guide I was worried about it so she kept an eye on it for me and called within a day or two of sending in the application. HTH!
DD was approved with 30% down, took under a week, once her DH was taken off the contract. He had NO credit, for good reasons(put away the good silver when he comes to visit...)
We took the tour last Friday, June 10. We were approved on the spot but told we had to supply proof of income. However when we got home from work on Monday there was a phone message saying they no longer need it and the financing was on its way to closing.
Now all thats left is planning the UNPLANNED trip in October....
Yes, we did it in the office after the tour. I already knew I wanted to buy so I actually went prepared to submit documentation with the load application... last 2 pay stubs, HR record, etc. My guide told me I didn't need any of it since they had approved me on the spot... though she did admire my organization
My paperwork came Fedex but it took a few days. But approval comes in a day or two after they receive the paperwork back from you, but the notification does have to travel through the mail.
