We have a rental through Alamo at the Car Care Center, and I just wanted to know how long is the wait for someone to come and pick us up at our resort to go and get our rental car after DME drops us off? Thanks!

You need to call and reserve a time for them to come GET you. If i'm not mistaken they run once an hour (maybe twice, i'm sure someone will have the accurate time). I usually set the time for about 3 hours after we land to give us a chance to actually get on-site and check in. Don't forget to take into account the time you might spend in line actually getting the car if you're planning ADR's or FP+ ... there have been times when it has taken FOREVER. When you're done with the car they will take you back to your resort as soon as they can! Usually within 5 minutes we've found.

Yes you need to call them. They need *at least* an hour lead time, but the earlier the better.

When you turn the car in, they will actually take you just about anywhere on property, not just to your resort*. We had to wait longer than 5 minutes, but it wasn't bad.

*They'll pick you up just about anywhere on property, too.

I only did this once, this past June, and from the time I called to the time I was on the shuttle was about 15 minutes. I actually expected it to take longer so I wasn't totally ready for him.

I just rented from Alamo at Shades of Green. You can easily walk there from the Polynesian or Grand Floridian. It is literally across the road from the Poly - one a paved path with a designated crosswalk. It was an easy .7 mile walk from the Grand Floridian Villas.
There was no wait. I had my car within minutes.
Super convenient
I highly recommend.

Also, be sure to re-check rates within the 2 week window. My rates dropped from $66/per day to $33/day (one way rental - drop off at FLL Airport)

We did it that way because it was a lot cheaper. It was almost 75 dollars more to pick the car up at Alamo at the airport. Crazy. Thanks for the help!!

Can you provide more information on the paved path? I looked on Google Maps and I cannot see any walking path to the CCC. I see a path from the Poly to the parking area at the TTC but then how do you get from the parking lot to the CCC without walking along the side of a road?

I did not rent from the CCC. I rented from the Alamo location at Shades of Green - a private resort for active military.

Anyone can access the resort. The path is directly adjacent to the driveway/road to the lobby of the hotel. There is a designated crosswalk between Shades of Green and the Polynesian.

There was no line at the Alamo rental counter. There was only one staff person. Rental cars are parked on the 5th floor.

Ah, I did not know there was an Alamo counter at Shades of Green. Thanks for that information and for the map link!
