How long does it take you to pack?

I love, love, love lists. I have laminated ones for general camping, and for Disney camping. Since we have a pop-up, our camping supplies are kept packed in rubbermaid boxes in the basement. We also have a Disney box which stays packed with spray bottles, ponchos, bandannas, small Disney toys,etc. For Disney, I usually start packing clothes 2 days before we leave, and grocery shop and pack the coolers the day we leave. If all three kids help (HA!), we can pack the camper and truck in a couple of hours.

about two hours... check the weather report for orlando for the duration, pack 3 day outfits and a pair of jeans and light jacket, 4 pairs of socks, bathing suit, towel and a pair of flip flops per person, add toothbrushes, toothpaste and sunscreen to a bag, grab a handful of DVDs, laptop, cells, throw the tent in the back and go.

Motorhome stays ready to go and is kept stocked with non-perishables.

Make a trip by Wal Mart for food & stuff. Throw the clothes in, load the golf cart in the back of the truck. Generally good to go in about 2 hours.

Now, the planning prior to leaving, doing the ADR's, figuring out what park to go to on what day, etc. takes several hours.

I start months ahead with a speadsheet of what parks are open and their operating hours along with any special events that day, extra magic hours, etc.. Then check on the historic crowd levels for each day, combine that with if anyone else that might be going with us, where they are staying, have they been to Disney before and what did they see or do when they were here. Then come out with a schedule to follow. I only get that detailed if someone other than us is going and we act as a tour guide for the others.

Otherwise my wife & I make a few ADR's, schedule a few special things like the fireworks desert party or a wine tasting and relax and enjoy the stay.

We usually start a week to 10 days before, but mostly due to sheer excitement.
