How long does it take you to do a digital page?

I am sort of proficient in PSE. I have an older version, 4.0. I’m just starting to work on digital pages. I did a practice page yesterday and it took me way longer then any paper page I have ever done. I hear so many people say it’s faster. Saying they did 5 and 10 pages a day digitally. I’m thinking OMG, How long was that day?

I use Adobe Photoshop CS2 (for Mac).

Guess it all depends on how 'complicated' of a page you are doing. On average I can do a page in 10-15 min (If I already know what I want to do).

I can tell you this, the more you do it the faster and easier it will become. I mainly do digital pages due to lack of scrapbooking space, and it's easier to do when my DD (6months) is napping.

I just started getting into digital pages last year because we had to make an autobiography book for our adoption agency. I loved it but I still prefer paper scrapping. I use Photoshop CS3 for Mac and learned by trial and error. I think it depends on how much you do on a page. One page took me several hours because I used a lot of elements and layers, changed the colors, rotated them, etc. but it really was fun to be able to manipulate the elements exactly how I wanted them. For a simple page, it takes maybe 10 minutes if the pictures are already color corrected and cropped. I think the thing that takes the longest for me is the fact that there are boundless ways to do things! I'll start out with one background and two elements and an hour later I've added two other background papers, changed four elements, re-cropped the photos . . . With paper I'm more limited and probably work faster because of that ;)

I have to admit, I did change the color of everything. Since I am just starting out I don’t have a collection of papers and elements. I’m collecting the free stuff right now. Once I figure out my personal digital style I will buy some things, but for right now I will be making due with what I can get for free.

I use only free stuff and got some great backgrounds and elements, and like you said, I just adjusted the colors. If I ever really get into it I'll start buying kits but for now the free stuff works great!

Thats a great plan to start! You will definately find a place you love the designers at and find a style.

It takes me probably about an hour or so to do a LO. That's including finding pics and kits to work with. If I have a plan it goes faster. I try to stretch my skills by doing a lot more layering then I normally would and working out of my comfort zone to learn new styles and improve my skills.

If you really want to scrap fast, there are no ends to the amount of Quick Pages you can find out there. QPs are basically pages already made, you just slip your picture underneath the picture hole and add some journaling/title/date if desired on top and boom you are done. LOs in 5 minutes!
