If we see the 10:00 Festival of the Lion King show, then head to Rafiki's Planet Watch when it's over at 10:30, will we be able to see everything there and be back for an 11:30 ADR at Tusker House? We missed this section last trip so I'd like to see it if we can fit it in.

No.:)

Figure at least 15 minutes each way to walk to the Train, ride the train and walk the rest of the way to Conservation Station and that leaves you 30 minutes maximum at Rafiki's-IMHO not near enough time.:)

There is a lot to do there, but like everything, it is what you make it. You could ride the train over, decide RPW is totally boring, and come right back. Or you could get sucked into all the interesting exhibits and activities out there and end up losing track of time. It's definitely not something I'd rush through.

I have an odd question about the train there. Are there any animals on the ride? Would it be worthwhile to take the train but never get off just to see some animals? I know that's what the safari is for, just curious.

Thank you both! We have a morning and a full day (well, 9-4) planned for AK, so I'll try to do RPW on the full day instead. For the morning, we'll just do the Safari, see FotLK, and explore some of the trails before our lunch at Tusker House. Maybe hit It's Tough To Be a Bug on the way out.

1. Are there any animals on the ride?

2. Would it be worthwhile to take the train but never get off just to see some animals? I know that's what the safari is for, just curious.

1. No.
(And, I'm assuming that you mean can animals BE SEEN FROM the train and not animals RIDING ON the train... Still a no.)

2. Nope.

For us, just two adults, I have to look at my clock when we are in the petting zoo area because my husband likes to pet every single animal and tell the goats that we will have all their brothers with us once we win the lottery. That alone takes at least a half hour if not more.

Actually we did see a mother rhino and her baby in a pen when the train passed by the backstage animal area. It was pretty cool. We didn't have kids with us so it didn't take us very long to breeze through the whole place. No animals were being operated on or checked out when we were there which was what we really wanted to see. The petting area was mostly goats. There were a couple of sheep and a cow too. I didn't find the area very exciting, but was glad I checked it out.
