How long does it take to get to the park?

We will taking our very first trip to Disney world in January. There are 9 total people going, all our first time. We are staying off site at the Fountains, Bluegreen.
Is there one main entrance that you drive through for the world and then continue on in different directions to the park you are going to?
Once you go through e main entrance how long would you say it will realistically take us to drive to magic kingdom parking lot, park, take tram to TTC, and then get into magic kingdom itself?
From the TTC we do have to take a boat or monorail to get to park?

Also, same thing- time to get from main entrance to animal kingdom, park and get in the gate?

These are the only two parks we will be going to this trip and we are so excited!

There are several different entrances onto Disney property. Once on property, there is an extensive road network- all public entrances connect. From the edge of Disney property to the TCC through a freeway entrance (i.e. NOT the DTD/Lake Buena Vista entrance) is about 7-10 minutes. The DTD entrance, even though it may be closer to your hotel, is a surface road rather than many of the other Disney roads that are limited-access and are therefore faster across property.

The TTC serves as the parking area for the Magic Kingdom and a transportation hub for Disney. AK (and EP and DHS and the water parks, DTD, and each hotel on property) have their own parking lots. Signage on property is quite good.

It should take you about 20-25 minutes from your resort to the TTC. It is probably about 25-30 minutes to Animal Kingdom. Depending on the entrance to property you use, the last 5-10 minutes will be on Disney property.

You can use Google Maps (or Bing or Apple, etc). to map your route.

Once you park at the TTC, a tram will collect you and take you to the ferry/monorail station (about a 5 minute ride). The ferry or monorail take about 10 minutes.
