How long does it take to get a refund?

We made a change to our resort reservation and the change will give us some money back. Disney said they will process the refund this week. It was all on one credit card.

Can anyone with experience tell me how long it takes to refund back to your credit card?

The reports here on the board have been varied. It seems that it really is up to your credit card company. Disney usually processes the refund in 2-3 business days but sometimes some credit cards can take 1-2 billing cycles to show the credit.

Some people have gotten their refund posted to their card in 24-48 hours. Others have waited 6 weeks.

It took me 5 days. I thought it was fast. Disney told me it could take up to 15 business days.

Over the years, I have gotten several refunds from Disney due to changed travel plans. They always tell me that it will take 1- 2 business cycles for the refund to appear on my credit card and the refunds have always shown up within 3 - 5 business days.

Mine was fast too. I could see the pending transaction within 48 hours, and it went through the following day.

I think cc refunds go through much faster than debit card refunds. Not because of anything Disney does, but because the banks are given a period of time before the cash has to go back into your account (I want to say it's 14 days, but I'm not sure on that). I always suggest calling your bank about 48 hours after you request the refund to see if the funds are available for deposit.

They will refund the money exactly how you paid it. If you made a lot of changes or made several payments on it. You may get multiple refund amounts. I cancelled a reservation a few months ago that I had made 4 payments on. I got 4 different refunds spread out over about 8 days. When the first refund came through I called the financial office immediately to find out where the rest of my money was. They went over with me when each amount would be refunded. It was all on same cc. I am not sure why the can't refund it all at once. Now if you made a lot of changes to the reservation with a lot of debits and credits its worse. I won't even go there. Hopefully you paid in one lump sum.
