How long does it take to add on through Disney?

I'm contemplating an add on and couldn't find an answer to how long it takes if doing it through Disney. Anyone done it lately? How long did it take?

If you call today and give them your deposit with a credit card you can start making reservations using the addon points immediately. Closing won't happen until you have signed the necessary documents and either paid cash for the balance or taken a mortgage thru DVC, but you can start using the points immediately with any direct purchase.

I was on the Disney wait list to add on at VGC late last year.

One Saturday I called MS to check something about an upcoming reservation, and the CM said, "Oh, you have XXX points available at VGC". I told her she was wrong because I had used all ny points for the reservation and nothing left.

Turns out she was right. My wait list had come through; the points had been added to my account; never even heard from my guide.

So, yes, they are very fast once they have your credit card info. So fast you might not even know you got more points!

Or in my case I've had resale come close to closing faster than direct. After waiting more than a week and not getting points I called back and then it still took a couple more days.

We just bought a 100 point add on at AKV within the last week. I called last Thursday the 1st, and the phone call took all of maybe 20 minutes. By mid-day Friday the points were in our account.

We received the paperwork on Tuesday and signed/returned it today. I expect everything will be closed out within the next week or so.
