How long does it take for the Teva's to "mush"?

I don't even pack my tennis shoes anymore! Two pairs of Teva's and I'm good to go. :goodvibes

Thank goodness for the Dis Boards!! After hearing these suggested, I bought a pair and I honestly don't think I am ever going to wear any other shoes for the rest of my life. I've got RSD, and these babies keep my feet feeling fantastic! I'm super pumped to wear them in the parks in December! Thank you to everyone for the fantastic suggestion!!

Wow, I'm amazed by all of these positive testimonials! Can you tell me if these Teva Mush's would work out in the park? I thought they were usually $50/pair, but these are only $19.99. http://www.sportsauthority.com/prod...=teva+mush&origkw=teva+mush&parentPage=search

Those are the 'newer' Mush's and have a cloth layer on top instead of being all foam like the other model. A little stiffer but probably more durable. I like the all foam ones better without the cloth foot bed but these are a little nicer looking. Takes longer to break in than the all foam ones.

I just wore a pair to Bonnaroo in Manchester TN of the all foam ones, they need to go in the wash, they got 'rood'.:thumbsup2

I'm a flip flop junkie and a couple of years ago I discovered the Teva Mush. I'm right there with the rest of you...they're my favorite flop ever!

I found them while looking for shoes for a WDW trip and I bought these and some tennis shoes. I hate regular shoes though when it's warm out and the first day we were there I put the Mushes on. My mom thought I was crazy but I lived in those flops the entire trip.

I've gone through several pairs but that's only because these seem to hold onto foot odor worse than other flops. I didn't think I could do anything about it but throw them away...until recently. (trust me...they were terrible!!) I've read that some people wash them in the washing machine and besides that I've discovered Burt's Bees spray deodorant. Works great for feet!! :D

I am a flip flop junkie too (that is all I wear in the parks) however, I never owned a pair of Tevas before. After reading this thread I went on Amazon and just spent $53 (w/ FREE shipping :woohoo:) for a "double pack" of Teva Mush Wedge flip flips:laughing:

I read a lot of positive things about them and thought I would give them a try for our upcoming trip. Hopefully they work out!:woohoo:

Thanks!:flower3:

FYI - if you have a Rack Room or Shoe Carnival near you get the Mushes when they do their buy1get1 sale and instead of $24 for 1 pair you can get 2 for $36 (that's what they run around here anyway). That's about the only way I buy them ;)

I loathe shoes with socks in the heat (the only time I wear them in the summer is to go running!), and figured I was good at WDW with my Fit Flops. I got a pair of Mush on recommendations here, and after I put them on at WDW I never bothered with another pair of shoes. FABULOUS. No blisters, rubbing, or aching feet at all after 8 days, and we walked a LOT. :thumbsup2. I very highly recommend them!

I probably would wear then a few times before you go so they mold to your feet, but don't worry too much about breaking them in.

Thanks to all you DISers, I discovered the Mush a couple years ago and LOVE THEM!! They are the best flip flop ever, I can wear them every day in the parks for a full day and no troubles. I'm on my second pair, my first pair are fine for around home walking, but they are starting to lose their mushiness, if I can find them on sale, I'm going to buy another pair for our fall trip...I prefer them when they are new, but I still love the old ones. :thumbsup2

I wear Teva Mush almost exclusively at WDW. They are extremely comfortable from the get go. I have never had one blister. The longer you wear them the better they feel. My current favorite pair is over 6 years old and going strong. I get a new pair or two every summer...I love the color and pattern choices...makes it hard to choose. They aren't too pricey and are often on sale.

Go for it. Join us in the MUSH fan club. You won't be sorry you joined!! Your feet will thank you!!

btw-I only wear the all foam Teva Mush. The newer ones with the fabric on the foot bed are not as comfy.

Teva Mush are flip flop lovers favorite flip flops!! :thumbsup2;)

Another teva mush Olowahu lover here! I prefer this crisscross style because they stay on your feet better, in my opinion. I don't like feeling like my feet are having to "hold" the flip flop on!

I researched shoes like crazy last summer for our Sept. trip. I brought several pair, but ended up only liking (loving!) my Teva Must Olowahu. No blisters. No back pain from walking so much. Super comfy, all day long.

Mine got a little smelly with so much wear last summer, but soaking them in water/baking soda seemed to help!

Well I have then and loved them from the start. They are not really a sandal, more of a flip flop. They are extremely comfy...like walking on clouds. I also like the TEVA Olawahu flip flops that have lots of thin straps...amazing comfort...walked all over Disney with both last year, in the rain, and still wearing them this summer. I can't imagine getting many years out of them but two seasons is good enough for me. I just bought a few more pair and also Reef flip flops are great too and very comparable.

No time needed to break in my Teva Mush flip flops either. Another brand I like are Reef. I bought a pair online last summer for our vacation, picked up another pair while we were away and wore them straight out of the bag for an entire day at Disney. Very comfortable. The only thing that I found with them is that because they dry out so quickly (which is nice for those rain showers at Disney) they seemed to dry out the bottoms and heels of my feet.

Love mine!

I'm so happy to read this! I have a new pair of Teva sandals and I've been considering adding the Mush as my other park shoes. I love flip flops but worry about blisters from the strap.

LOVE these and wear them almost every day. However I agree that these are not for everyone in park touring. I had no problem with blisters, or with shock absorption, etc. My feet felt great! However you do walk differently with flops on even if it doesn't feel like you are--they absolutely affect your gait, etc.

For me, this led to me putting a lot of strain on my knees, particularly my left knee. It is still not right almost a year later. So I don't think I would Mush my way around the World again. Hopefully this will not be the case for you!

Another Mush-lover here! We just got home from our DW trip yesterday. I took my Teva Mush, Teva Katavi (I think that's what it's called), my Privo's (I wear them to work a lot, so I thought they'd be a safe bet), my Saduku Yoga (I know I'm spelling that wrong!), and my Keen. Just a side note - I broke my foot last year, so I needed shoes that would keep it from aching. The Katavi, Privo, and Keen were too hard, and my feet ached half-way through the day. The Yoga were too soft, which made my knees and back ache, along with the foot that had been broken. The Teva Mush were perfect - I wore them on the "big" days - World Showcase and commando-touring. I think next time I'll just take the Mush and save me some packing-time! ;)

I have a splinter in my foot that I haven't been able to get out for a couple of days. I can't even feel the splinter when I'm wearing my brand new Teva Mush sandals--they are the only thing I can wear right now. I love them.

WOW, thanks everyone!!!

Feel free to continue posting your experience if you haven't yet. And let me just say I'm planning to get those Teva Mush flip flops and have happy feet on my trip! I am a flip flop wearer, and typically wear some that have a little support or a thicker sole. I think the "Mush" will be perfect for me.

Now to figure out where the best place to get them is....... I think I should pick them up soon. I don't know about where you live, but here in Michigan it seems like once July comes the shorts are all on clearance and they're starting to bring in the parkas for winter. Crazy! So I don't want to wait too long and miss out on my comfy feet.
