How long does it take for SW Visa points to show in account?

Yeah! Those 2 weeks before the "first closing". I spent it well within the 2 weeks.

Good point about closing and due date. Closing is about 5 days after due date. meet minimum spend 5 days before that 2 week "first closing". Maybe you need to make payment too. I don't know why it didn't work for you. Maybe you cut it too close and there were pending charges spilling over that the 2 week frame . but I'm sure you'll say no. It's like you don't want it to be true. My data points were not taken from memory. I spent time checking my detailed notes and my chase, SW accts.

Sorry, not trying to be difficult, but it's not about what I want to be or not to be true, just how it works and it's important that accurate information is put out for the benefit of other forum members. RR points won't hit your account until your statement cycle closes and are not affected by making a payment. Your own data points prove that. As I've already said, your payment due date usually comes 1 month after your closing date and not "about 5 days after due date" as you've stated above. I would encourage you to log into your chase account to view your statements and compare them to your SW RR account and you'll see the correlation to your statement closing date and the date the points were actually credited to your RR account. Also, I never mentioned that my bonus points hitting did not work out for me. I obtained the SW companion last week, so to have this only two weeks into the year, I'd say it could not have worked out any better for me!

As another data point, I've included a link to the Chase SW Rapid Rewards Plus card rules and regulations and also pasted an excerpt below. As I've already stated, if your minimum spend points were transferred to your RR account then your cycle closed already and it would be typical for your bonus points to also be credited at that time and not any earlier:

Redemption Process: Points earned during a billing cycle are not available for redemption until they are posted on your billing statement and transferred to your Southwest Airlines account. Points will be automatically transferred to your Southwest Airlines account at the end of each billing cycle. Please contact Southwest Airlines at 1 800 I FLY SWA or visit www.southwest.com to redeem your points.

Thanks for posting jaccceee. Now you can see what I'm referring to. You applied for card 9/10, you got your card as you stated 9/17, you met your min spend sometime between then and 10/9, your statement closed 10/9, and your spend points along with your bonus points were credited to your RR account on 10/12 (3 days after your closing date and not before)...a completely typical transaction. Your bonus points did not post early as your initial post stated and I factually contradicted.

You post that you want to put accurate information out there. So don't change sides and say this is normally when points post. It's not. It's a loop hole. My 1st closing was 11/6. My bonus pts should not have posted before that. No Chase rep. will tell you/know that your bonus will post a month before closing. Don't go calling and ruining it. I just thought I'd put this out there just in case someone needed points quicker.

I applied and was approved on 1/26. Received the cards on 2/2 and made the qualifying charges the same day. Billing cycle closed on 2/10. The bonus points posted to my account on 2/12.

But, if you make your qualifying charges too close to the closing date, you could be waiting more than 30 days for the bonus points to post.

Are you for real? My posts haven't changed even a single bit. You are obviously very confused and I'm unfortunately not able to make it clear enough for you for whatever reason. It's not a loop hole in anyway shape or form. It's very simple. Your first cycle closed 10/9 as evidenced by your statement that you posted (please review it and take the time to understand it before you post any further). All of your points transferred to your RR account 3 days later...complete typical. Your payment due date may have been 11/6, but that is immaterial as I previously posted and is not the same thing as your closing date. The only way to obtain quicker than a statement close is to use the shopping portal.

Your point? Glad to see you're not quoting the mysterious 7 day rule anymore. Now were down to "too close". It's not rocket science, obviously the charges need to have to time to move from pending status to actually hit your statement. If they are still in pending status when the statement closes and you haven't hit the minimum already then your bonus will be delayed; simple as that. At least 3 days prior to closing was sufficient for one of my cards last week. So, three days evidently isn't too close to the the closing date.

I'm going to stick with 7 days. There have been numerous reports of people who's charges have hit before their closing date, where they received the full points for all charges which obviously put them above the threshold for the bonus, yet the bonus points don't post until the second billing cycle. So, it might be three days; it might be five. But I'm going to publish seven. And if they've improved the process and it hits more quickly, then that's another bonus. But don't expect it.
