I saw a tv report about 2 weeks ago where the cops did a type of test on a group of people. They went to a resturant ate-drank for about 3 to 4 hrs. then the cops took them to the police station and all were legally drunk (breathulizer (sp??) and walk the line/ finger to the nose test then the cops put them into a car let them sleep it off at a hotel for about 6 to 7 hrs then the next morning brought them back to the station and was still legally drunk some of them failed the walking test as well. That being said out of the 8 people they actually tested the next morning 7 out of the 8 people were still legally drunk some didn't actually have the alcohol in there system (not failing the breathulizer)
but most did fail the walk the line/close the eyes and place your finger on your nose test.

This scares me because this just proves if you think you are ok the next day to drive most likely you are not.

Basic urine test is about 24hrs. An ETG urine tests shows up roughly 80 hours.
As for smoking, that depends on what you're smoking

OP if you have to test in 72 hours, they will detect the smoking.

I should probably word it differently, they will test for smoking & not hire you if detected. My first job out of college, more than a few years ago ,tested for smoking.

The company they used for the testing forgot to test someone for smoking & she was hired. About a month later someone caught that she wasn't tested & sent her to be tested. She failed the test and was going to be fired. Luckily her manager stepped in & saved her or she would have been gone!!

They would not prohibit any existing employees from smoking or test them.

You've got to be kidding? If this is real than you shouldn't be drinking if it's a worry. If this is a joke it's stupid. FYI if your asking when you NEED to stop drinking that should be a sign that you drink too much. Good luck!

I didn't know alcohol consumption could be picked up in a pee test we always use a breathalyzer for our employees when we do random and post accident testing.

if you are smoking marijuana on a regular basis it can be present in your system for a month or more depending on usage and your metabolism.

This goes for 2 beers or 18 shots of tequila. All is well in 6 hrs. Drugs too
