How long do you wear the button?

So yes a controversially subject, but how long to you guys wear the "birthday, anniversary, wedding" buttons? I swear I saw the same person wearing her birthday button two days in a row! Maybe everyday is her birthday ;) But really, I've always wondered if you go for your birthday and just end up wearing it the whole time. Or maybe it's your anniversary but the whole trip you like to wear it since the trip is more of an anniversary to you both. So tell me, what do you do?

My DD (14) wore her b-day button for two days. Then she took it off. It was kind of getting old. She did enjoy people wishing her Happy B-day more than anything. We went to Beaches and Cream twice one day but when they offered her a balloon the second time she declined saying she was already there earlier and had received her balloon and song.

As for me...my DH and I will be celebrating our 30th anniversary in WDW next month. (The trip is our gift to ourselves.) I just might wear that button for the next 30 years. ;)

I've only been at Disneyland once for my birthday and got my sticker (they didn't have pins at that point, just stickers) and stuck it on my Happy New Year mouse ears (my birthday is on new years eve) and I went to take it off the next morning but as soon as I tried it became obvious I would just be left with a completely torn up sticker and a messed up pair of ears, so I left the sticker on for the rest of my trip. I'm going to WDW for my upcoming birthday and I'll probably wear my button for the whole trip. I'm planning to wear a tiara or something else special on my actual birthday though. :)

When DD went for her 8th birthday (10 days) she wore a button every single day. :rotfl2: It was a 10 day party as far as she was concerned and she was in heaven. princess: Every day when we'd enter the park, she got a lot of "Happy Birthdays" from the CMs and she was thrilled to bits. Her birthday wish had been to "be famous for a little bit" and she THOUGHT it had come true since so many people wished her a HB during our stay. :yay: So if some grinch gets their knickers in a twist because a kid wears a button for the whole trip, let them squirm. She was happy and it didn't hurt anyone.

If you planned a trip to celebrate something, I don't see anything wrong with wearing the button for two or three days.

At most, you get a little brownie. I'm sure Disney's happy to give you an extra brownie that costs them 25 cents if it means you're coming to see them and spend $1,000+.

If you got fastpasses or something like that, then I'd say it is wrong to wear it longer than your special day. (Because then you're hurting other people).

We celebrated our twin boys 3rd bday there in March. They were given bday buttons at check in and wore them all week. They really got a kick out of everyone wishing them happy birthday.

I leave it up to my kids, normally. One trip they wore them all week when we were celebrating their birthdays. This past year, I made my DD take it off after a few days though - with the new celebrations theme this year, it seemed that everyone was wearing a button, so I just thought after it was a few days after her birthday, she could take it off (she didn't want to, but I'm a mean mom)!

We got married down in Disney May of 08. Our wedding was on the 7th, we got there on the 5th. We did not wear our "Just married" buttons until our wedding day. We wore them the whole time after that. Same with the anniversary button.

Birthday button I would just wear the day of my birthday.

Disney looks at special occasions as a trip long event so why shouldn't you!:thumbsup2

Well my husband and I are celebrating our 15th anniversary when we go next week and we plan on wearing our buttons the whole time. But we did not have a large wedding and this is our special trip. I think an anniversary celebration can be more than just one day. Especially at Disney World!

We wear our anniversary buttons for the entire trip. We don't expect any extras from Disney, but it's fun to have people wish you a happy anniversary all week :goodvibes

We wore our anniversary buttons for teh whole trip at Disneyland last year, we plan on wearing them for the whole trip when we go to WDW next week.

We went on our Anniversary last year. DH would only wear it on the day of our anniversary... I didnt want to wear it alone... so ours was 1 day. But it was fun!

We'll be there for our 14th anniversary next week !!:thumbsup2

we are going to Disney next week and DD's 11th birthday will fall mid trip. She plans on wearing her button the whole week and her mickey birthday ears the day of.

something we picked up on: we made all of our adr's over the phone and told the cm we would be there for dd's birthday and to mark the char. breakfast and dinner that night for her b-day. well when i checked online at our adr's it shows that we are celebrating her b-day @ every dinner!! So i guess if it is ok with Disney then it should be ok with everyone else!!:cheer2:

also we were there last year during her birthday as well and she got really sick about 6 hours after eating at h&V. She spent the next 24 hours throwing up in our hotel room and weak our last day... so we are making up for that this year!!

I cancelled a cruise we had booked to celebrate our 10th Anniversary in November 09. Instead we are going back to Florida with the kids, and doing Disney and Fort Myers again. The kids will be grown before we know it-plently of time for cruises in a few years, God willing.

We will celebrate our 10 years at Disney in March. And we will wear our buttons the whole week-for an event that actually occurred 5 months prior.

today is my and dh's 10th wedding anniversary! We were planning a couples trip to vegas to celebrate and then decided it would be more fun to take the kids back to disney!! They do grow up so fast!!

I think if Disney mark it for your trip by asking what are you celebrating then I say wear the button the whole trip. i don't think people mean to get anything out of it they are just celebrating and Disney is the world of celebrating so why not:cheer2:

Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary to all pp that are going to celebrate. My DD3 will be celebrating in 2 days when we go and he wants to wear his badge all week I'll let him choose :wizard:

I'll be there for my 14th anniversary and will also be celebrating my 44th birthday. Our trip is August 26th - Sept. 5th and we are a grand gathering of 25 people.

My twin BFF's have their birthday 1 week before we get there and mine is 2 days after we leave so we have picked a day in the middle to celebrate them all together. We will wear buttons just that day but I have no problem with anyone (child or adult) who wants to wear it the whole trip.:thumbsup2

I will be there on my actual anniversary (Sept. 2nd) and DH and I will wear our buttons that day. We are going to the Hoop Dee Doo that evening! Can't wait!
