How long do you think it would take you to plan a Disney World vacation?

Thanks, I got the idea from the disboutique thread on the disney for familes thread. I have a Little Mermaid pillowcase that I am going to make an outfit of too. You should see some of the things the ladies make on the disboutique thread. It put my little outfit to shame. There is even a man that sews and shows his work on that thread. It is amazing.

You have to show us the Little Mermaid outfit too please!

Where is the thread at? Sorry  I'm half awake.

I just bought another one for teacher appreciation day tomorrow.

What is this "teacher appreciation day" you speak of? :confused3

I got my coffee for the trip. Community coffee is our state coffee. I have to have my coffee. I got the pre packed in coffee already in a filter. It is perfect for hotel coffee pots.

Okay...WHERE did you find those? I saw them on another thread (Tiger's I think) and my friend tried to find some (in Baton Rouge) and couldn't. Community Coffee is good stuff though.

I still took my own coffee down to WDW with me. I packed pre-measured coffee and put it in a filter, then folded the filter up and put it in a snack-size ziplock. In another ziplock, I put the cream and sugar together. A little messy when taking it out of the ziplock, but it worked pretty well. I can't drink that stuff they leave in the hotel rooms. It's like the worst coffee ever. Even Folgers is better than that stuff.

Oh....and you are making some CUTE stuff!

I wonder is Disney Tiger is ok. I hope she comes back to the boards.

I have been in contact with her. Her router is down, so she's not able to get on the boards. She's doing fine otherwise. She says to tell you she'll be back soon!

Don't you have Teacher appreciation week there?

Lafayette has the Community coffee packs at Super 1 Foods. Super 1 Foods in New Iberia has them too. I think I paid .50 cents for them. If you want I can send you some or look for them when you come down here.

I am glad to know Disney Tiger is ok. I miss her.

Thanks for the compliment on the outfit I made Grace.

Guess not... I suppose you have to be appreciated to celebrate something like that. :confused3

Good to know about the coffee packets. I'll have to keep that in mind for whenever I get to go on another trip that requires a hotel stay.

You can find Community Coffee in Shreveport. My mom is obsessed with with CDM and it is very hard to find here. She has to get the grocery store to order it special for her.

Oh and Ryan's dad is the store director for the super one here. Isn't that funny?

I don't know what CDM is but my friend has no problem finding Community Coffee...just those individual packet things.

Faron my husband is the store director for the New Iberia store.

:rotfl2: Too funny.....I have been on a mission here to find those coffee packs. I can't ever find them. We usually just pack an entire pack of coffee and some filters.

The appreciation week was great. Lots of stuff going on each day. I was so exhausted by Friday afternoon, though. But in a good way. :thumbsup2

That outfit you made for Grace is SO CUTE!!! I really need to learn how to sew. My MIL has offered to teach me. I think I will go get a couple of shirt/shorts patterns for DS after this trip. I'd like to TRY to make him an outfit for our cruise. "TRY" being the key word here. :lmao:

Its been quiet here lately. I hope everyone is doing ok. We had a nice weekend camping. I wanted to upload some pictures for you but they are not on my camera. I think Faron must have put them on the computer for me. I can't get to them because he changed his password and he forgot to tell me the new one. I will post pictures as soon as I can. I got my blue envelope from Disney today:cool1: . I have a question for those of you from Louisiana. Are we the only ones that can't wait to eat rice and gravy again when we get home from Disney World? I mean it is fun to go to all the restaurants but I am ready for some good cajun food when we get back. I am seriously considering cooking some gumbo and freezing it. I can put it in the ice chest on the trip there. I can put it in the fridge when we check in. Then all I need to do is pack my little rice cooker and cook a pot of rice, microwave the gumbo and we have a good cajun meal. It sound like alot of trouble but it really is not. I can pack some plastic spoons and plastic gumbo bowls and just throw away the dishes. I can even throw away the container I freeze the gumbo in. All I would have to wash is the rice cooker pot.
You are not the only one who can't wait to get home to have some cajun cooking. I miss home cooked food while I am over there. I think I will do your idea and make some food before we go this year.

For Mardi Gras we have something around here for the season called King Cake. It is sooooooooooo yummy and we have to get it while we can because it will be gone until next year. Yesterday I took Courtney to the doctor. She has a sinus, throat and ear infection. When we went to the store to fill her prescription we found these babies.

Individual size king cake. YUM OOOOO We had to get us each one. I shared with Grace. You can get them plain or filled. We go bavarian cream. I also like strawberry cream cheese. It is like a filled cinnamon roll. When you buy a big king cake it comes with a little plastic baby. It is a tradition to hide the baby in the cake and who ever gets the piece of cake with the baby hidden in it has to buy the next king cake.

It is also the beginning of crawfish season here. I can't wait to eat some good boiled crawfish.

This is a picture of what it looks like, in case you are wondering. If you ever come to Louisiana come during crawfish season. You won't be sorry.
I didn't get to have any crawfish at all last year. I plan on having some this year. Oh and Atwood's Bakery here in Alexandria will ship a King Cake year round to anywhere in the US :thumbsup2 and they have some good ones.

Check out the disboutiquers on the disney for familes board. Alot of moms make the bowling shirt pattern and easy fit pants for the boys. I think those are easy patterns. They get the patterns at youcanmakethis.com . Just ask the ladies for ideas and they will flood you with them. Everyone on disboards is usually so nice and helpful.

Stay tuned to my trip report and you can find out how it went with taking food to the resort. I am trying to decide what to cook and take along. I am leaning toward round steak and gravy and chicken stew and maybe one more thing. I don't think the hotel fridge will hold too much more. Grace loves her rice and gravy those two meals I listed both freeze well. I wonder if crawfish etoufee sp? freezes well.
