I am trying to decide if we are a average Disney family. We average 10 or 11 days per trip and always stay on site. For others who stay on site, how long do you stay?
Since we have started a family of our own 8 years ago, we have visited WDW times... Once at FW in RVs fo 5 nights, 3 Nights at POLY during our Land & Sea adventure, and now we are planning to stay 7 nights at WL in April. I feel that if you really want to go to the parks and be able to do the parks and not feel rushed, you need at least 4-5 days.... BEst wishes with your polling! I am curious to see what the outcomes are!!
Our stay in '06 was 7 nights. '07 was 9 nights and '08 will be 9 nights. We also seem to be coming in earlier and earlier and arrival day and leaving later and later on departure day. Much to the dismay of my husband! It means our daughter misses 2 days of school instead of 1. But hey, were at Disney. It doesn't upset her.
In 2007, we will have taken 3 trips, which works out to about 25 or 26 days total for us. That's almost a whole month out of the year that we'll have spent in WDW!!
We have been going 2-4 times a year the past few years and usually stay 4 nights per trip. We also have the luxury of being within driving range so we don't have to factor in air fare. ETA: As our girls get older (1 in last year of Elementary, 1 in 2nd year of Middle School), it gets harder to go during the better times. We are being forced to go during the busier seasons, which DH does not like as much. I wish we would go to Year Round School here!
Our average is 8-10 nights, although we have done two full two-week stays and they were great! We have also done a few quick three or four night stays, mainly just to enjoy some special event or something.
We went for 8 nights last December (our first time), and we'll be there 13 nights this December. In the future, we plan to go for 8-10 nights depending on the season/cost. So I chose 8-11 as our answer.
We stay 7 nights but would stay longer if the budget and schedule would allow! If free dining comes out again in August 2008, we would consider doing 10 nights at a value to maximize that savings. Would have done it this year if we could have. The good thing about staying only 7 nights is we always leave wanting more...I'm curious if we'd still feel that way after 10 nights?
Since we have owned the vacation club we have been able to stay on an average of 12 nights each trip, but with the kids school schedule getting harder I am sure we will be staying for shorter amounts of time.
