How long do you spend at rafiki's planet watch altogether including the train ride?

So how long do you spend at rafiki's planet watch usually with the train ride and back? I was thinking I should plan the following for Rafiki's Planet Watch in Animal Kingdom:

Wildlife Express Train: Wait: 10min, Ride: 10min.
Habitat Habitat: 20-30min
Conservation Station: 60-80min
Affection Section: 20-30min
Wildlife Express Train Back: Wait: 10min, Ride: 10min.

Is this the time you would spend, because A lot of people on other threads, said that I am really over estimating the time in Rafiki's Planet Watch. How long do you usually spend in each attraction, and the train ride? And what is there in habitat habitat, and conservation station. I have only been to affection section so I don't know, how long to really estimate. The reason why I thought that for them is I read that there are so many stations in the conservation station, and each one would tale around 10min. Also I wanted to do the rainforest sound thing there. And habitat Habitat I think is like maharajah jungle trek, and pangani, with different animals. Can you confirm what they are, and how long would you spend in rafiki's planet watch?

We don't waste (I mean "take") more than 60 min. total, if we bother to go there at all.

We find it to be a massive time-waster (OK, time-EATER) at DAK.

(Others may enjoy it, however.)

To each.

My kids love it, both the train ride and the petting zoo. We don't spend much time inside the COnservation Station, though. I'd say a little over an hour for the while time.

We went pretty early one morning. I would say that the train ride was cool and the kids liked meeting rafiki. But there was nothing else really going on yet and there are so many options for them to do petting zoos around here all summer so we skipped that. U guess it really depends on crowds and what is going on at the time you go

Habitat Habitat is barely an attraction, and nowhere NEAR the scale of Pangani or Maharaja Jungle Trek. I would think allocating an hour for the entire visit (outside of train time) would be plenty.

Here's a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dUM4Gib3z4

I can't imagine spending 2-3 hours at Rafiki's but your family may be different. I think there might be less "there" there than you are expecting.

About an hour total with the train ride in each direction. Unless we try to take a quick nap in the Sounds of the Rainforest.

I think it depends on how interested your family is ... we eneded up spending more time because the whole family enjoyed brushing the pigs, goats, and sheep. There is a few things to see/do inside the building too. I think it is one of those things that is hard to put a solid time on unless you are in a crunch to get to a reservation or something. Hope you have fun!

We love it - but we don't spend anywhere NEAR that amount of time - maybe 45-60 mins total..... that's really because DH & DD love the petting zoo & I love taking a break while they pet goats.;)

We've never been there. Is it something two adults would enjoy (who are big animal lovers), or is it pretty oriented for kids?

we did that... took a short snooze in the rainforest booth. :thumbsup2

Isn't it a great place for a quick nap? The sounds of the rainforest are so relaxing, except for the saws buzzing down the forest and the jaguar (or whatever that is that sniffs you out).

In the early mornings, there are often opportunities to observe veterinary operations behind the glass windows.

Not nearly as much to see at Planet Watch as at the other walk-though "trails" at DAK, however.

Again, Planet Watch can be a big time-eater,
especially counting waiting for, boarding and riding that slow-moving train... in both directions.

We like it a lot, but it does eat time because of the transport issue. We also spend two days at AK, and I would consider a pass if you (1) don't have small children or (2) don't have a lot of time.

Realistically, about 60-90 minutes total, from entering the train station at Harambe to leaving the train station. The trains typically run every 5 minutes most of the year.

If you, like us, are animal lovers, you need to experience Planet Watch. Conservation Station has a lot of exhibits and if you go in the morning, you might be able to see a vet procedure. My husband and I look at every exhibit so it takes us a while to get around everything.

And Affection Station is wonderful for us. The husband pets and talks to the goats and I associate with the pigs and sheep.

For two early 50 year olds, we spend at least an hour out there. It's kind of Animal Kingdom at its best since it combines education with animals at your own pace.

we are 2 empty nesters. We stay longer when they are doing something with the vets. We saw an antelope get its cast replaced once. One time we were waiting for the gorilla to get a physical, but it got postponed because the gorillas figured someone was headed to the vet and they all started throwing poo at the keepers.

This time you are wrong, this is a hidden treasure that should not be missed.

We are serious animal lovers in our family.

With that said...the times we have been there...we honestly like the train ride and the Mickey bars we got there better than the actual attractions.

Now, had the vets been doing anything interesting that may have been a whole nuthah story....so I guess it's hit or miss.

The teensy petting zoo is ok....but nothing that I would go out of my way to see.

Other opinions will vary though.....

We probably spent an hour or so there not including the train ride. We took our time- there are a few exhibits on the way to the main building that we looked at, and we checked out everything inside as well. My niece loved the petting zoo, so we spent a good chunk of time there. She was also able to meet Rafiki- he was there signing autographs. I thought the area was nice, but it's not something I personally would do every trip. When just my husband and I go next year it is probably something we will skip.

I didn't care for the train ride at all. You are actually sitting so that you're looking out the side of the train, and there is a wall behind you. It was not comfortable for me riding like that, and there wasn't much to see.

Longer than I would have, if we hadn't just taken a train to get there! :rotfl2:

Once you've made it all the way out there, you're pretty motivated to make the most of it.
