How long do you sleep for?

Same. I get up for work at 530. Usually around 10 (give or take) I fall asleep. I try to keep going to sleep around the same time when I’m off because I don’t usually sleep much later. Sometimes I can make it until 630 if I stay up past 11 but even then most the time I’m still up around 530-6.

Must have at least 6 hours. 7 1/2 hours usually though my husband is jealous that I can sleep 9 hours straight no problem lol.

Lucky to get 5 usually not in one junk - couple here then few hours later couple more - takes me FOREVER to fall asleep brain won’t shut off and yes I’m on medication for that !! Obviously not working well !! Been this way since I was a little kid

Does anyone suffer from REM when trying to fall asleep? Your eyes go into hyperdrive and flutter open and shut. Happens to me when I've recently come off of the computer.

I get roughly 6 and half. I have to get up at 0430 in order to get to work on time, so get to bed at 10PM. I will be retiring in less than two years and it will be a big adjustment not having to get up so early.

I always feel like the biggest slacker when this question is asked but I usually get 9 hours. I wake up during that time and sometimes lay thinking for 20-30 minutes but I do fall back asleep. Usually in bed at 9:00 and up at 5:30 on weekdays and weekends more like 11:00 to 8:00. Because I do wake up for at least one bathroom break and then again by the dog a couple of times I know the actual hours are more like 8.

I don't feel sharp and energetic without a lot of sleep and hate just trudging through the day tired. I make it a priority.

As long as possible. I feel my best at around 9-10 hours. I don’t function well at 7 or less. I get a little sluggish with more than 12.

I evacuated from Orlando to the north Georgia border on Monday. The drive was almost 12 hours (four hours longer than normal due to weather and traffic) and I had two hours of sleep the night before because of doing hurricane prep at the house. I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to finish the drive. I am going home tomorrow and I am going to bed at 6:30 with an alarm set for 5:30 in the morning. I’m hoping I am well rested for this drive.

I’m with you. I love to get sleep - usually head into bed between 8:30 & 9. I read a book or news for a bit- but then it’s lights out. 10 is the latest during the week. I’m up around 5/5:30 unless a person or pet wakes me earlier.

Weekends and during summers/vacations, I sleep a little later. Sometimes, even 10 or 11 hours. No chronic fatigue or sleep apnea or anything, I just love snuggling up and relaxing given the chance.

I have a question for you 5-7 hour folks. Are you running around doing things all that awake time or do you have a lot of down time? I started thinking about going to bed at midnight and getting up at 5:00 and I wonder what I would do. Granted my son is 26 and out of the house and my husband and I don't go, go, go with each other so I mostly entertain myself. I workout 4 days a week and have time to watch TV, do my Duolingo, complete my brain puzzles, clean house, cook meals, run errands, study up on topics I'm interested in, walk the dog, go to HH with friends, have weekend plans with friends, etc. And I work 8-12 hours a day with it being closer to 10 most days. I don't know what I'd do with myself lol!

I usually get around 8. Asleep about 11p-7a. Get to bed around 1030 and watch a little Family Guy and I'm out.

Currently functioning on about 3 1/2. Was supposed to be at work at 230a today, fell asleep at 8p last night (yay!) but woke up at 1030 and tossed and turned until midnight and gave up. Got an hour nap around 8a

Lately it’s been around 10. I think my body is still recovering from chemo and surgery. Before all of that, I averaged about 6-7 hours a night.

Generally around 8. Sometimes I may only get 4-5 and make it up the next night. Naps on a day off too to catch up.

My record is 16 hours! That was after a lot of jet lag, but still, how I managed it is a mystery to me!

So weird, right?! After flying home from Thailand, I literally slept for 24 hours. How is that even possible? I’m thinking I must have done sleep-walking to the bathroom at some point. Just bizarre.

5 maybe 6 hours. It’s not straight sleep though. It’s been like this for awhile.

I try to get at least 9 hours a night. I'm usually in bed by 11 p.m. I watch a little TV, and although I don't set an alarm I generally wake up around 9 a.m.

It varies though. Today I woke up at 5:30 a.m. after about 6 hours of sleep. Will likely go to bed earlier tonight.
