how long do you give someone on Etsy to respond?

I want to get a shirt made for DS for his birthday party at the end of the month. I found a seller who's stuff I liked and I sent them a message on Thursday seeing if they could make me a custom listing for a shirt and I haven't heard back yet. How long would you give them to respond before looking for another person?

As a side note, I had invites made for his party and they drive me crazy because they are Mickey heads but they are not the right size/proportion of ears to head. Of course my non Disney loving friends see nothing wrong with them but me being a Dis freak it is sooooooo annoying!

I've only made 1 purchase off of Etsy, and the seller couldn't have been more helpful for the item I purchased. I think over the course of 2 or 3 days...we probably had about 5 or 6 convos. (Had questions about the item) Once I got my answers- I was literally out the door, so I shot that answer back to the seller, she immediately did a "private" listing of the item I was going to purchase, and I did that when I got home. Worked out great for me.

While I realize my experience was only a single purchase - I would convo some others as well, and - if I needed something before the end of the month - I would take the first "positive" seller.

Well, since it is a weekend, I would give them a few days into this week if you can. Some people take long weekend trips or vacations and may not check their emails. Give them until Tuesday I would say.

And, depending on where the person is, there is a chance they won't get back to you if they are involved in the weather issues currently happening in the south.

I've had two different experiences on Etsy. One worked like a dream. The seller was responsive and the custom listing was posted and finalized within about 3 days.
The second experience, well let's just say its been 3 months and I've still never heard back. I was hoping to do pirate t-shirts for our DCL cruise and the person never responded to a question I had. So she lost out. I was ready to buy two custom made shirts. Who knows why sellers don't respond. :confused3 I typed the same email to both parties (planning on buying both as they were completely different items) and only one responded. Oh well. Saved me money in the long run.

Almost all of my etsy experiences have been great, except for two. Most recent, I have been trying to contact a seller for something I ordered on Dec 20th... ugh. Two convos and no response. She has great feedback and hundreds of orders. :confused3 I'm giving it another week and convo'ing again. :sigh: thankfully it wasn't expensive!

I've bought a lot through Etsy for the holidays and some sellers are real flakes. Since you need the item fairly soon I would find another seller.

I'm having the same issue, except I ordered (and paid) November 11th. :sad2: It's been a nightmare, and I've always had great experience with Etsy. All I ordered from her was a sample wedding invitation set... something she doesn't even have to customize, just pop it in the mail. She got back to me mid-December and said she had "medical issues" and so she was behind. Fine. A month later and I still haven't received them.. she says she mailed them, I just conveniently didn't get them. I have a sneaking suspicion she just keeps forgetting - which is too bad, because I REALLY love her invitations, but at this point, won't be ordering them from her.
