How long do the campsites stay decorated?

I showed my kids the pictures of FW at Christmas with all the decorations up at the campsites. My oldest DS asked if the decorations at the campsites would still be up when we get there Jan. 2. Do any of you know?

There will be some still up.

Official Disney Christmas decorations are supposed to go up Monday 11/8.

November 8 is probably is the date for the theme parks.

The official Fort decorations have not gone up until Wednesday night of Thanksgiving week for the past two years.

Campers will have there decorations up long before the official ones. Everything is still in full swing up to New Year's Eve. Then, stuff will slowly come down. I would expect that Jan. 2nd will be a big day for folks to take down decorations, and I have seen the Fort's official decorations taken down on the night of Jan. 2nd one year (they were taken down later last year) but plenty will still be around over the next few days.

It used to be really magical when everything around the World went from Fall decorations at Thanksgiving to Christmas decorations literally overnight on Thanksgiving day! When we went to parks on Fri. after Thanksgiving it was truly magical. No longer since they do everything over time now. Sad in a way, it was truly magical.

True.

For the theme parks.

But, the Fort's decorations do go up overnight!

It has been the Wednesday before Thanksgiving the last couple of years.

There aren't any Christmas decorations around the Settlement on Wednesday night.

But then on Thanksgiving morning you see this:

How do they do it?

Well, if you happen to be out really, really, late on Wednesday night, you might see the elves themselves at work:

SO HAPPY to hear that the alot of the campsites will still have decoratins up. I have planned a surprise Sleigh ride on 12/27 before our Hoop Dee Doo show so the holiday decorations are an added plus!!

We were at the Fort 11/1-20 last year and the decorating went something like this...

MK & HS all done between 11/1-11/8 (kickoff for MVMCP and Osborne)

DTD - sometime early in the month (first week?)

AK & EP sometime during the 2nd week of November, finished by around the 14th

We didn't see much at all in the way of resort decorations when we left on the 20th. From what I've read (confirmed by TCD's report here) those all went up the few days/weekend before Thanksgiving.

As for campers...
We saw some fall/Halloween decorations right away, however they quickly gave way to Christmas decorations that first week in November. They increased day by day and it was fun going out looping at night to see what was new.

There weren't as many by the time we left as we've seen when we've arrived AFTER Thanksgiving, but still a respectable display. It was especially fun watching the regulars on 1600 chip away at their massive display that last week we were there. He was often out working on it pretty late and night and we'd go looping by most nights to check on his progress.

Nothing like the holidays at the Fort! :santa:

I'd give or take a few days after New Years, but it really depends on how fast the campers are leaving after the holidays. The parks usually clear out about 2 weeks into the new year. So there will still be plenty of festivity in the air.

We always love riding our bikes around FW to enjoy all the Halloween decorations, would love to be able to come down and see it for Christmas. Hat's off to all you who decorate.
