How long do rock concerts last? (Aerosmith and Van Halen in particular)

Christine, yes, we're in the DC area...but we missed the Van Halen tickets for DC. DD14 heard they sold out in 4 minutes. We're going to Philly for Van Halen. Aerosmith will be in DC.

DD and her friend are huge into the old bands. I've never been a rock fan. I've been getting an education just by being her mom.

My husband and I will be at the Aerosmith concert. We haven't been to a concert in years and I'm excited.

Earplugs are a good idea. And my migraine medicine.

the Van Halen concert I really doubt you will need to worry about. Depending on where you live and what number of show you are in the tour will really dictate whether they are still touring then or not. This is a tour with David Lee Roth (the king of all divas). I doubt the tour last more that 3 or 4 shows. I am a true Van Halen fan but seriously dislike David Lee Roth. Now if Sammy Hagar was playing with them I would be all over that.

Well, I guess it's a good thing DC was sold out, then! The Philly show DD is going to is show #3, and DC is #17.

Tigger & Belle, if it turns out I do take them to Aerosmith, maybe we can meet. I'm REALLY hoping not to. I'm in the midst of a 3 week migraine now.

Wow, I'd love to see Aerosmith again -- used to be a tradition at the Boston Garden (Fleet now) on NYE. Last time I saw them was the millenium NYE party there and they played until well after midnight. I distinctly remember this because by the time we got out, no trains were running and we had to hitch, yes hitch (can you imagine two 40 year olds begging for rides 100 miles south of Boston?) a ride. We lucked out and about 6 people were going by in a limo and heading 10 miles from our house. Turns out one of the women is now my dental hygenist --what a small world

NYE shows are different, and yes, they usually run until around 1:00 am--sometimes even later.

If you are going to the DC show for Van Halen make sure the tickets are refundable. No way DLR is making through 17 shows without the collective Van Halens booting his butt out.
