Just curious when Disney says they are refunding X amount of $, how long does it usually take to show? They never processed my overpayment from their stupid website last Saturday like they said (a difference of $880!). So I called again yesterday and he got the approval from guest services and it was "definitely" processed yesterday. And then last night I also was supposed to receive a credit of $570 since we changed from Poly to CSR. So how long til these come through? I could use the $570 and put it towards the family vacation!

Oh yes, they did say 7-10 days but I know it usually doesnt take that long right?

I cancelled a stay, and the 1 night deposit was back on my card after like 2 business days.

Thanks! I want to put the extra money from our anniversary trip onto our family trip and get the darn thing paid so I can focus on airfare!

I think it depends if you use a credit vs debit card. I canceled one recently and it took 3 days to show back up on my credit card.

Debit cards can actually take longer. Sometimes banks take up to 30 days to put the funds back into the account, even when the business has done the refund immediately. We have had this happen several times in our business. We do the refund to the debit card, but the bank sits on the funds. If you can get a date and time from Disney regarding the refund, then call your bank and see if there are funds pending.

Credit card refunds typically show up the next business day following the refund. So if the refund is done on a Friday, it won't show in the system until Monday or Tuesday. Otherwise, if it's done before their processor does the daily batch, it should show next day.

It was a debit card :( The first one was done early in the am, and I know with my own merchant account my batch charges and stuff are done around 3. The second one, they didnt process it until 9pm... so I know the $570 one will take longer since it wont get processed until today and then it will be on my bank. The $880 was the one done around 10am. So hopefully my bank wont be a PIA about it!

it definitely has everything to do with the bank your cards is through. It takes my bank at least 5 days to put a refund back into my account. It's crazy. It takes moments to remove the money and days to put it back in. :confused3

Aint that the truth! Disney takes the money out about 2 days after I make a payment, but I bet my refund will take a lot longer than that!

This is why I would never use a debit card. I don't see why not use a credit card and submit a payment to it immediately from your bank?

Because we dont use CC at all. We built up CC debt of $6800 (or I should say I) and it took awhile to pay it off so now we dont even have CC. Just too much temptation. We try to not have any debt, just our mortgage. We dont have any car payments or CC and I JUST paid my student loan (4K) off. We prefer to live debt free and if we cant pay it in cash, we would just rather not do it or have it.

I agree. That is why I charge on my credit card and then make a payment towards my credit card, therefore at the end of the month, I may have a small balance and just pay it off. Online banking is great! I don't know how I use to do it prior to it.

Also, this way I get points added to my Marriott card so our next vacation (not Disney) our hotel room will be paid for with our points.

It may depend on your bank and/or credit card.

MBNA for example is "famous" for holding credits for as long as they can.... BofA pends "refunds" into my checking account for several days (which is one of the reasons I am closing that account)

I have two Disney refunds in the last few months and both processed within 2 days on my debit card. :thumbsup2

Yep. Same here, I make like 20 payments a month all along with the online banking, so it isn't some huge amount at the end of the month. I like it, and I earn tons of cash/points. I pay like every bill and everything with CC, and then on my year end summary I can see how I spent money the entire year. ha-ha.

This is waht we're working on...hopefully 1 more year!
