How long did you lurk on the CB...

I signed up on my birthday to the collectors board and then soon after I started going into the other boards!

I don't even remember how I found out about this site! Usually when I get looking for something I will do a general searcha nd that is probably how I found out about the dis! :bounce:

I lurked for about a year on the old resorts and restaurants board for about a year before I signed up. My first post though was on the old Inspiration Board.

I never lurked. I was planning a trip and spent the first couple of weeks on the planning boards. Then I ran out of planning questions and started checking out the other boards. I posted to the cb the very first time I visited it. :)

I didn't lurk either. I dove right in on my first day.

I still lurk alot.:D I think I lurked for about 6 months before my first post.:D

I jumped right in after my sons helped register me because I was SO computer illiterate back then........I'm not as illiterate these days!!! :jester:

I lurked a whole 2 days before I had to respond to a thread on the debate board.
Most of my attention was on the planning boards. Like Native, I started floating to other boards and eventually came here. :)

Hmmm, I started posting pretty much right away on the Cruise Board when I first joined. After a while, I explored a bit on my own and discovered the Community Board. I know I was a lurker here for quite a while (months!) before finally posting on this forum. I was too intimidated to post, with so many people knowing each other, why would anyone bother with a post from me. But as time went on, I would add a thought or well wish to someone's thread and it grew a little easier each time.

It took quite a while but it finally got to the point where I ventured a post of my very own on the Community Board - asking for opinions of Bohemian Rapsody being sung at a H.S. concert - (with Columbine still fresh in my mind). In retrospect, it probably should have gone to the debate board but I was unaware of that board at that time. Even though the majority of people responding to that thread did not agree with me regarding the appropriateness of this song at a H.S. concert, IMO it was a very respectful thread and it gave me exactly what I was asking for - the frank opinions of a variety of people from different walks of life. No one was right and no one was wrong -- they just expressed their own opinion on the subject.

That thread encouraged me and, while I still consider myself a bit of an outsider over on this board, I have found a comfort level for me -- a balance between lurking and posting.

Lurked for a few months, then I posted, and hung out on the Resort board. Found my way to this board and haven't left :)

I lurked (mostly on the Trip Reports board) from work for about 3 YEARS, and didn’t really spend a lot of time on the CB. Last summer, I came over here (maybe because I’d read all the trip reports posted) and got hooked. I lurked a couple of weeks and started making a post or two. Finally, last July (I think) I got my own computer and started posting more often. I spend most of my time here now.

I lurked on the resorts board for a while, and TPAA board, but found I hung out at the DVC board the most! Lots of questions to ask! LOL

Then before PatrickCon2002, Dan Murphy PM'd me over to the CB to lure me into going to it (after all Patricks house is a mear 4.53 miles from mine) :teeth:

I still lurked for a while, but slowly as my need for the other boards subsided, I lurked here more and more..... and now, although I still feel like a newbie, I post more.

I still bop into my old faves, but not daily....... And occsional (sp) I bop into the pin boards, cruise board, and a bunch of others.

Edited to add..

Now I am heading towards a DIS meet....... with the who's who of the CB....... I wish I could lurk for that...... but I will be forced to jump right in!

I lurked for about a week before I registered for the DIS. But when I registered I didn't post on the CB, I mainly posted on some of the other boards. I didn't actually start posting on the CB until a couple months later.
