How long did you know your SO before you got engaged?

Don't know if there's been a thread like this recently, but I thought it would be fun. I'll start.

I met DH on a blind date on Feb 23rd and we got engaged on June 17th, so we knew each other less than 4 months before DH proposed. We've been married 6.5 years.

So how about you guys? Anyone out there pull a Danny Bonaduce (he married his wife ON THEIR FIRST DATE! ) Anyone date so long that their nieces and nephews got engaged before they did?

I also met DH on a blind date, and he asked me to marry him about 3 days short of knowing him 3 months.

We have been married 15 years!

I voted 1-2 years, BUT we moved in together after only 2 weeks, and then didn't get married for another 4 years after he proposed......

I voted 1-2 years BUT we only knew each other 3 months when we moved in together, then we waited about 9 months after he proposed to get married. Its been almost 7 years now.

DH and I met on the internet, we actually met for the first time on December 14, 2002. We dated for a few months, he moved in around May of 2003...we were engaged Christmas Day 2003 and we just got married in September!

We met each other in college when we were 19. Started dating when we were 21 and got engaged when we were 24. So I voted for 4-5 years.

8 years. We dated from jr. high through high school through most of college. Got married my junior year in college. Nov. 6, 1972 was the day I asked her to "go steady." Just celebrated 33 years of "being together." Will celebrate 25 years of wedded bliss next July on Castaway Cay.

Dated for 7 years before we were engaged.....then married 1 year later. Actually "knew him" for 4 years prior to dating too....

Oh..and married for 15 years this coming June.

DH and I sort of knew each other in high school but never dated and were not friends. Then, he asked me out when after college. At first I didn't go out with him (I really had other plans with some friends but wasn't too interested anyway) and my sister who knew him said I should give him a chance. In this case, my older sis did know best and after 3 1/2 weeks he asked me to marry him and I said yes...then we were married about 4 months later. We didn't live together before the wedding. That was almost 8 years ago...time sure does go fast when your having fun

We dated for 13 months before we got engaged, but about 5 months of that he was away between study abroad and ROTC training! Just celebrated 11 years of marriage the 29th!

DH and I started dating January 31st, 1988. We got engaged in November of 1990. So it was almost 3 years til we were engaged. We married 6 months later May 22nd, 1991.
