How long did it take...

Alright guys so give me some hopium here. How long did it take for your one night waitlist to go thru? What was the fastest time and the slowest? I have had zero luck with waitlists so far and a lot of luck thru stalking. I have three 1 nights setup to replace my backup and I need answers lol

Huge variables here. Way too many for any answers be of any significance to your waitlist. It's all resort dependent, season dependent, room type dependent, what time of day it becomes available. I have seen where someone had a waitlist for something and someone else was able to grab the reservation when it became available before the waitlist could pick it up. With that said I had a 1 night come through for a highly desirable day in a highly desirable resort in just one day.

I wish there was. There was one or 2 at one point but I believe they were shut down by Disney

Fastest time was 10 hours (Beach Club at 7 months.) Slowest time was about 3 weeks (AKL- Jambo Value Studio at about 5 months out) Both of these weren't for particularly busy times of the DVC year though.

I’m in the same boat and it’s driving me CRAZY!! I have one night waitlisted at Poly (non-tower studio, resort view) in October that was unavailable for my stay at the 7 month mark (I got all of my other nights so it’s just the one and of course it’s right in the middle)…waitlisted right at 7 months, obsessive stalking (seriously, I may have a problem ) and there’s been NO movement for anything at the Poly since I jumped on this particular merry-go-round (a few weeks so far).

It has been varied but one day to a few months….in all my waitlists, so far, only one never made it that I didn’t cancel it before the deadline.

In the last month, I have had four fill…one night in Dec for RIV, one night for RIV in January, one night for VGF in August, and one for two nights in Aug.

You just have to be patient and stalk….the good news is that one night is much more likely…

Thank you I am going Insane as well checking every half hour. I especially hate that what I need has popped up during the Polynesian stay that took a long time for me to build.

I feel depressed and like there's no hope. I know I am so dramatic at first I would get impatient and change to different waitlist rooms and days everyday which I know is killing my chances so I stopped

That's why i did it like that because i already have one night booked so even if one fills (hopefully not with a gap in between, at least I'll get to stay for two nights and that is worth it to me. 1 night isn't worth the hassle imo. Please God i need a miracle

I may have been super lucky but I was able to get 5 nights in a Beach Club studio this August through waitlist made a few days after the 7 month mark and it filled within 15 days. September is in the lowest point season plus food and wine so the odds do drop. I think if Food and Wine was starting in August like it was for awhile, I am not sure if it would have come through.

I was surprised because I had been stalking it like crazy and it was never available (it was only 1 night, preventing me from getting the full week.) I put in the wait list straight at 8 am when I was able to and I was surprised when it filled so quick!

Longest was about 2-3 days, just switching 1 night between studio types (from Deluxe to Resort Studio) for VGF, a little after the 7 month mark.

Only had this happen once, so I can't give you fastest/slowest, but got a 1 Friday night in May waitlist for a studio at VGC.

Waitlisted on Oct 9th, got the confirmation on Dec 30th.

1-2 weeks usually. It's been so effective for me lately that I don't even stalk the website anymore for 1 night waitlists.

Once I got one the next day. I've never not got a 1 night waitlist. One time about 2 months out I decided to add a night at VGC at the end of a Paradise Pier stay. I planned to get an airport hotel the night before my Saturday morning flight. I saw DCA was open late that night, I decided to waitlist the night at VGC. Came through within a week or so. So then I decided to waitlist Thursday night, came through in a week or two. Then I waitlisted Wednesday night, came through about 28 days out from check-in. I was out of points, couldn't try for more. Member Services combined the 3 nights into one reservation. The harder part was shortening my PP reservation, I had Sunday to Thursday nights. They refused to drop Wednesday and Thursday nights since they were no longer available (they treat the modification like a new reservation). It was room only and I only paid 1 night. They said ask at check-in. I did and they dropped Wednesday and Thursday nights.
