How long did it take the get membership card? (re-sale)

I just sent final payment on Monday to TTS....I'm wondering how long it took others to receive your DVC membership card in the mail?

We sent our final payment in the middle of August, closed in the begining of September and recieved our cards yesterday. I was not expecting them so soon, but what a great surprise!

Hmmm, so if I sent my payment on Monday, then likely I won't get my card until the end of November? I wonder if there is any way I can expedite that? I'm wanting to use it to upgrade to an AP when I get there Nov 12th....

You will be able to get a temp member card at WDW. From what I hear this can be done at Downtown Disney. This is what I did after closing on resale - only I was visiting Disneyland and wanted to enjoy some of the perks.

We closed on our resale contract in May and I just received the membership cards YESTERDAY! I had to call twice: the first time was in July and I told them I bought resale and hadn't received my new membership cards. I was assured that they would be in the mail that week. Well, obviously, that didn't work, so the second time I called (beginning of September), I told MS that I "misplaced" my cards (saw that tip here on the DIS-thanks! ) and needed "replacement" cards-seems like that did the trick!

I'll join you, LauraLap, in waiting for your cards. We closed on September 16 and we're leaving for WDW in 3 weeks. I am patiently waiting for my cards too. I am not sure what I would need them for, though. We aren't getting AP's, won't have a car (no need for valet) and we're doing the DDP so no need for restaurant discounts. I just want that $10,000 card!

In May, we went to the DVC office at SSR and they made permanent cards for us within 5 minutes. A few weeks later we got our normal set in the mail...so, we have 2 sets!

The DVC Membership cards are issued after everything is done and posted to your account. The cards are printed by an outside contractor and prepared and mailed in batches. I don't know what the minimum is for them to run a job, but I know that it adds to the wait.

backyardponder is correct. You can get a copy of your card from the DVC Preview Center at SSR, but only after your membership is complete and you are in the MS system.

It took about 7-8 weeks to receive our cards in the mail.

We closed Sept. 10 and do not have cards yet.

I hope it won't take to long, we got our cards today but not from a resale, it took about a month so maybe it will be soon for you.
