How long could you survive

Ok, I assumed it wouldn't be restocked,
and I envisioned one of those stations
where I wouldn't want to even stop for the bathroom.

If it was one of those I think I would last
until I was down to the sandwiches with the grey bologna :crazy2:

Otherwise, a WaWa that was being restocked wouldn't be bad :woohoo:

The rest of my very long life.

But you need to qualify. Are you talking AMPAM or the Texaco with the Taco Bell and the Subway?

Those of us who grew up in the 50's and 60's, a gas station might have a soda machine, and maybe a candy machine.
Grocery stores back then were small. Honestly, some of the gas stations now are pretty close to the size of grocery stores in the early 60's, and have as much food.

Oh, see, that wasn't necessarily the case in the rural South. It was common for little general stores to be strategically located at a crossroads, and when the oil companies went looking for dealers they often just put in pumps in front of those stores, and they kept them for quite a long time.

Of course, growing up I knew several families that had their own gas pumps; it was more convenient when they had to gas up farm equipment as well as vehicles. One of my friends in HS had one; needless to say if we were going cruising in town we always did it in her car, because her Daddy didn't have issues letting her take some of the gas, while the rest of us would have had to buy it retail.

Do I get to choose which gas station? Because some around here have some great food.
Maybe it's a Maine thing, but many of our gas stations are also the place to get pizza, burgers, sandwiches, etc. You want pizza? You order it from the gas station!

My dad has been doing it for years.

The kids & I got stranded at his house during a snowstorm. The next morning he went to the gas station to get breakfast for us. (Never mind the grocery store was right behind it.) He came home with doughnuts, frozen mac & cheese, OJ, maybe some eggs.

Forever. Our stations have it all.

In Canada they put purple dye in "farm" gasoline to show you paid no tax on it, and they also put an additive in it to make your engine smoke when you use it.
My cousins laughed when were at the lake and a boat went screaming by trailing smoke........my cousins wondered how they would explain how they the boat was being used on the farm.
