I dropped off my WDW vacation memory cards, to be developed, last Tuesday, at the local photo developing shop. I have 600 pictures and want doubles. Guy gives me the price and tells me they would be ready Saturday. On Saturday, I go in and he says.. tomorrow. Next day, I go in and he says... he ran out of paper???? :confused3 and they would be ready next day, Monday. Yesterday morning, Tuesday, I call to see if I can pick them up and he says not ready yet...tomorrow and he will call me. Well it is now tomorrow and haven't heard from him. Have used him before and always had good results. It's just that these are my WDW photos from 2 weeks ago and I got great shots from our room at AKL, to my DD's pirate cruise, to DH's Segway Tour and everything else. I was a little excited with my new S2-IS. :teeth: I am starting to get nervous that he's erased my memory card or something. If it was going to take a week, then fine, tell me that. That's what I get for using a developing place called '30 minute photo'. :guilty:

I go to our local Walmart 1-hour place and I have had my pictures back in 1 hour...as many as 600. If they were really busy it took a little longer, but usually just an hour. And I put my card into the machine, approve my pics and take my card with me! Very easy! I hope you get them back soon!! I hate to wait and dropping off my pictures is usually done before I even unpack! I have the S2-iS also and love it! Our WDW pictures turned out great! Good Luck!

Wow Tonya... that is ridiculous. I'd ask him how much he's going to take off your bill for the inconvenience since you could have had them at Wal-Mart in ONE HOUR!!!

It took me 2 MONTHS and threatening to sue our photographer to get our wedding pictures! We had paid for 20 pix to start with.... she ended up sending us over 100 pictures since it took so long! Good luck

Thanks, guys. I'm going to just go there now. I'm just worried that something's wrong and my pictures will be lost. :guilty:

unfortunately it does sound like there might be a problem. I can see why you are concerned.

Did you upload load them to your computer before taking the card in?

I never give them my card. I always upload the photos to my computer, do any necessary cropping/editing and then burn the ones I want to print onto a CD or DVD. I take the CD/DVD to Costco and load my photos into their kiosks for printing.

Hopefully it'll all work out.

Good luck! I learned the hard way to NEVER EVER give anybody my memory cards to develop! Our WDW vacation in 2005, I let DH drop off my memory cards at Eckerd. The idiot working at the photo lab sent my memory cards off-site to be developed, and their off-site lab couldn't find my memory cards for THREE WEEKS! I was devastated - 11 days of WDW and USF/IOA, including our first ever Star Wars Weekend. Luckily they found them and Eckerd didn't charge me for the printing, and we're talking three 256 mb memory cards of pictures. Even then, when I put the memory cards in my computer to upload the pictures, they missed printing about 70 of them!

Now, I upload all my pix BEFORE giving my disk to anyone to develop. If it's less than 50 pictures, I print them at home myself.

Good luck to you!

Well, I called and he says that the pictures came out a reddish color. He said that I don't have my resolution set correctly on my camera and he's doing me a favor by trying to correct each picture one at a time with a software program?? I told him I haven't played with any resolution setting and my pictures were taken on auto. I don't even know what resolution means. I offered to come look at the red photos but he said they are not there, they are at his other shop. He said he can have them to me no earlier than Saturday. I asked why he would tell me they were almost done if there was this problem and he said that he didn't develop them personally and was only notified of the problem today. Has anyone ever heard of this? I'm also going to ask on the photography board. Thanks again.
