How long could I expect to wait to buy about 50 OKW points?

I am seriously considering buying about 50 OKW points to 'test the waters' of DVC figuring I can probably rent the extra points I would need, or go every other year on banked points, etc. I have been watching TTS to see what comes up and I don't see much new very often, plus it seems like the resales are always about 100 - 150 + points, which I really think is just too much and I don't want to spend so much before I am sure.

Also, I think I understand that I can add points after I get my initial ones from Disney directly for 25 points each?

I just don't want to think I can buy 50 points or so and then be totally disappointed when I can't...

Small contracts of 50 points are available, but they sell very quickly. You will see them on TSS but they have offers pending or are already gone. These contracts make nice add-ons for existing members.

How about calling the TSS and tell them what you want and when something comes up have they call you right away. We did this when we were looking for a BCV contract.

Yes, you can add on directly from Disney. Minimum purchase is 25 points, but you must pay cash, they will only finance 50 points or more.

All I did was email them and tell them what I was looking for and they called me with several different offers. Very easy.

I started looking through the sponsors of this site this past Monday for 50 points at VWL or OKW. Actually missed out on one Wednesday, I called back ten minutes after I received the message - it was already gone. Put an offer in on a package Thursday @ VWL (and I've never been there - sure I'll like it).

IMO it's imperative to have an agent call you with listings BEFORE they hit the board on the smaller offerings.

I'm with you on the idea of "testing the waters". From what I understand, once you're an owner, you can then purchase more resale points directly from Disney when they're available - even finance through them over a certain amount.
