How long can we park at YC on NYE?

We have a 7PM Ale & C and then going to EPCOT (reserved). But might have to leave YC parking and swing around to EPCOT parking (AP).

Or is there no time limit on YC parking-esp wondering for NYE. TIA.

Just ask the guard. They have never given us a time limit BUT we've never been for NYE, which is a HUGE event and heavy crowds. I would expect them to tell you that you'll need to move to Epcot parking after dinner but it never hurts to ask!

Parking limits are up to the guard so it's anyone's guess what they'd tell you.

(you also have the option to valet if you don't want to move your car and they give you a limit - on NYE, I think it'd be worth every penny!)

A dining reservation allows you to park at the resort while you are actively using their facilities. Once you have completed your activities the car should be moved.

From the Disney website:

Day Guests
Complimentary standard self-parking is available while enjoying select dining, shopping, entertainment, and recreation experiences at Disney Resort hotels.

Definitely valet park. Good luck at Epcot for NYE. We went once a few years ago. Vowed never again. You could barely breath with the crowds. Maybe if they are limiting numbers it will be better. We had our daughter with us. I was so afraid of letting go if her hand and having her swept off in the crowd I was stressed out all evening.

Thanks. What is valet park? Go up to yc they will park the car and care less what time you come back? Even 1am.?

Valet parking is $33 (plus tip if inclined) with no time limit on leaving your vehicle.

I would just be careful on NYE though. That’s a really funky day (at least pre-COVID) and you can encounter unusual parking and traffic situations that don’t happen any other day of the year. It is not out of the realm of possibility that YC’s parking (both self and valet) could be at capacity and you could be directed to overflow parking somewhere else, regardless of your ADR. I wouldn’t say that will definitely happen, but it’s possible.

Just make sure you give yourself plenty of extra time for your 7pm ADR in case you do run into any challenges. I’m not one to waste unneeded time arriving to things way early and just sitting around wasting time at WDW, but on that particular day I have a different opinion - better to overshoot just in case (in my humble opinion).

Have fun!

Ok thanks all. Prob just park at epcot and walk to YC. Just figured leaving France area would be easier than the epcot lot after fireworks.

We parked at DHS, walked to Epcot. You could do the same and walk to YC first. Then at the end of the night while the Epcot folks were crawling to get out of the parking lot, we zipped right out no problem. We were probably in bed before we would have even gotten out of Epcot parking lot.

So you had a DHS ressie though correct? We were lucky (and wanted) EPCOT for NYE so we can't park at DHS-or can we? I also assume the skyliner will be packed, but could always walk at least.

Also wondering is BC even open yet? If not that's a lot of parking avail.

Good point, this was before Park Reservations. Now having gone since, they only asked us if we had a reservation, didn't ask us to prove it, let alone what park.

Yes, BC is open.

You don’t need a park reservation to park at a park. Sometimes there are signs up saying “park reservations required” or something along those lines, and sometimes the CM will also mention it, but they don’t check your park reservation status at the booths.

So long as you don’t mind the walk, parking at DHS is a good idea, IMO.

The DHS idea is a good one. Yes they are open till midnight but without a "show" it won't be as crowded. By the time you walk over from Epcot the lines to exit should be greatly reduced. Heck, in your case parking back in the lot, nearer to the bus stops, would be in your favor. Closer to the path to walk.

It's actually a huge blast, one of the most entertaining days I've ever had in the parks. Sure it's crowded but they are set up to move the crowds in ways they are not on any other day of the year. Give me NYE over (aside from bathroom waits) than any F&W weekend day. The extra entertainment and vibe in the park is worth the crowds. But, it's not for everyone.

And limits on attendance numbers are long gone

Dang it now I'm not sure which route, you guys have too many good ideas. :wizard:

Sounds like easiest is valet by far the closest and quickest way out. $33 and a tip seems reasonable since there are 4 to 6 of us.

Otherwise DHS is prob next with about a 20 min walk after. And even if they said no parking here we could simply exit and go park at epcot.

I'm putting Epcot 3rd for now.

Thanks again.

Not to overplay the hyperbole surrounding NYE at WDW, but to me the single most important thing you can do is exactly what you’ve done here - think through multiple options and the pros/cons/timing of each just in case you run into anything unexpected. Having options in mind and a plan to react and/or roll with things accordingly is half the battle w/ NYE. I guess that is stating the obvious, but it can really pay off, in my opinion, as to how one enjoys that day at WDW.

I would second the Valet option at YC. It puts you where you want to be for both easy access to dinner and a quick getaway via the International Gateway after the Great show at Epcot.

Just be sure to pack your patience and plan extra time to navigate from your resort to YC via Epcot Resort Blvd and the access roads. It can turn into a standstill just like I4 on NYE. Due to DHS being directly across from the turn-off on East Buena Vista Dr.

Make sure to take the turn for the Dolphin / Swan on Epcot Resort Drive ( first exit on East Buena Vista Dr if you come off the main World Dr. access road. You may need to cross 3 lanes of traffic. Then just follow it around to the YC main turnoff and guard gate.

@jade1, FYI That’s now the entrance for buses, taxis and rideshare only. The DHS parking lot entrance is off of Victory Way now. So a lot less congestion on E. Buena Vista!

A few days ago we parked at DHS around 4pm, took boat to Boardwalk for dinner at Trattoria al Forno, walked to Epcot for Candlelight Processional, and took boat back to DHS. Granted, not New Year's type traffic, but it was pretty easy. We've never been asked about park reservations when we park (we've also parked at MK on days we had no park reservations and visited the monorail resorts for shopping and QS lunch). People who drive and park hop won't have a reservation for their second park anyway, so I don't expect the parking booths would check for reservations, especially later in the day.
