How long before refund is issued for canceled booking?

I booked thru Best Rate and canceled my AAA booking on July 11. It's been a month now and I still haven't gotten a refund for the cancelation. How long should I wait before having my TA check into this?

Anyone else think this is ridiculous that WDW gets to use my $400 for a month (or more) without having to pay me interest on it

Thanks, Calie

Disney says it could take 2-3 billing cycles before you see the refund. Usually it's only 3-4 weeks though. You should see the refund pretty soon. Give it another week or so. :)

I got my refund within a few days but I can check my credit card activity online so I knew it was there a lot faster than if I had to wait for my credit card statement.

It took me and my sister exactly a week to get our refunds

Did AAA charge you to cancel? My AAA TA said that if I cancel my MYW package I would be charged a $25 cancellation fee. She said that they AAA charges $25 to book a package, but this office doesn't charge their customers. But if customers cancel a package, then they charge.

I wasn't sure if this was really the policy or if she just made this up on the spot.

I didn't book thru AAA, I booked thru an online agency that specializes in Disney. I booked a room only with AAA discount not a package. I don't think your agent was making up that policy. I JUST read in today's travel section of the sunday paper in the AAA ad that our AAA office will waive the $25 agency fee if you book online including for airline tickets so it sounds like they do have this fee and can do what they want with it.

HTH, Calie

When I cancled my AAA room only, booked through Disney, because I went with Best Rate instead, the CM told me it would take up to 2 billing cycles. I told them it was my debit card and there were no "billing cycles". I asked when I should be concerned if I hadn't seen the refund. The CM said in two months, but the refund could be sooner. He was right, it didn't even take a week for the refund to hit my account.

Did you pay with a check or charge card? Also, could it be the middle man company that you used that will be refunding you your deposit?

My TA also told me it would take 1-2 billing cycles so I think that is a standard time given but as I posted earlier it took only a few days. Of course, if I didn't check my credit card activity online, it would have been a billing cycle before I saw the refund.

I paid with my Disney Visa and it was billed directly from WDW not from my TA so no middleman to go thru really. I check my activity online every other day if not every day so I'll see it as soon as it posts and don't need to wait for the billing cycle. It's pretty frustrating that it's taking so long especially hearing others that got a refund in a week. It's also maddening that I paid the deposit for my new booking and they get that money right away but when they owe me money I don't get paid in over a month.

still waiting, Calie

I cancelled my ressie about a week ago and it showed 4 days later on my card.

I don't get why you don't have it back. I had the same situation-I used my Disney Visa and went through a Disney TA. However, the billing is directly from Disney. Like I said, I had my money within a few days. Odd.

Ours showed up on the 2nd billing cycle-guess it was too close to the end of the month to hit the first one.
