How long before re-piercing ear?

DD10 got her ears pierced on 3/17 and one ear was pierced too low, so we took the earring out the next day to let it close up.

Claire's, where she had it done, said she could get it re-pierced after only a couple of days. Her earlobe is so small, that I am afraid they may go partly through the same hole again, so I want to make sure it is COMPLETELY healed.

Anyone ever been in this situation, and how long did you wait to re-pierce?

We had this happen when my daughter got her ears pierced. We took it out almost immediately because it was obvious that one was higher than the other. We waited one week, went back and had it done again. No issues at all. I don't know if it would make a difference that your daughters was in for a whole day.

When I had mine pierced, they got the location of the earrings even, but they pierced me at an angle. I know my situation is different in that I did not need to get a totally new piercing, but within 2 days I numbed the ear lobes and created new holes on the backside by shoving the earrings through the front of the original piercing. I had no complications and the old backside holes healed over.

Ouch!

I wish I'd known this before -- DD's were uneven and we waited 6 months. When we went back, there was scar tissue and the gun didn't work. It hurt so much that DD still won't go back (2 years later).

I am a little confused. Are you saying you waited 6 months to take them out, or took them out right away and then waited for 6 months to try to get them re-pierced?

Can you see/feel scar tissue? That is one of the things I am worried about with my daughter. At this point, I can't really see where the original hole was, and I don't feel any thickening (which I guess is what scar tissue would feel like...?)

I just want to be absolutely sure that it is completely healed before trying to get it re-pierced...
